Of BCN, SNI, Harry, and the First Amendment | Eastern North Carolina Now

Beaufort County NOW may not only be the first of its kind in Beaufort County, and northeastern North Carolina, it may well be a member of a rarefied few in today's world. I don't really know for sure.

    Why?

When I began the whole County NOW concept, with my long time associate, Pinetown native David Winstead, we immediately sank ourselves into this long term project, armed with a dream, and an ambition to achieve the most complete internet platform. Eventually, we lifted our heads to investigate the competition on the world wide web, and we found nothing remotely similar to what we built, what we continued to construct; so I accordingly surmised that Beaufort County NOW (BCN), from coded bones to cognitive content, is a true original. While Symbiotic Network's prototype, BCN, is SNI's unmitigated property, it is the beginning of the future success that will benefit all of my influential contributors. David Winstead (a.k.a. Number One Guy), other coders, web designers, our future publisher's, marketing intellects and many others will all get a golden nugget of what SNI (Symbiotic Networks Inc.) has created, and will create.

Through all of this initial, and integral foundation building, I have concentrated on content and the associated pathways of communication, while Dave built the tools, by our essential unique code, to make it so. Accordingly, while constructively endeavoring to build northeastern North Carolina's first Moderated Informational Platform, which is geocentric, I have regularly concerned myself with two things: the First Amendment of our Bill of Rights, and the self-destructive implosion of journalism and the 'free press', and how can others be better, more efficiently informed.

I am not here to resurrect journalism. Journalism will resurrect itself when integrity is returned to that craft at some point. I am here, however, to promote and to further the First Amendment, while I endeavor to discover the golden fruits of our aforementioned labors. Beaufort County NOW is that online publication, the best regional platform for our community, and those so pre-possessed, who have given some constructive thought to what they need to say to completely communicate that which must be expressed.

To that end, as publisher of northeastern North Carolina's only Moderated Informational Platform, I accept all adequately presented content from real people (no fake names), who have the gumption to stand behind what they are called to decry, as known truth, to their community and the world. It does not matter that it is the essential truth of all people, because absolute truth is unattainable for so many intellects, and becoming an impossible objective to leave lying around unguarded. It only matters that these people sincerely believe that what they express is the truth as they know it, and that it is their ultimate responsibility to know such.

How does this work for all concerned, especially for an unknowledgeable public that desperately needs to become more knowledgeable? It's simple. I offer this platform to everyone with the aforementioned conditions: quality of construction of content, but not to the point that I control the essential theme of any content other than what is created by myself; and, most importantly, no complete anonymity for anyone. Everyone must put a face on what they feel compelled to relate to the rest of us.

Now back to the First Amendment. I champion our Founders unmitigated desire that all speech is necessary to share ideas, ideals, and a collective future of freedom. Regarding the First Amendment, I believe that political speech is the most essential speech available to our People to maintain a fully functioning Democratic Republic. To be succinct, if the provocative commentary by former Beaufort County sheriff candidate Harry Meredith, Jr. offends anyone or differs from your perspective of what is real, I will offer all the space that is necessary for you, or any other party, to rid themselves of the crippling weight of being publicly wronged, providing that they are a real people, and that their point is presented moderately well, regardless of what that point is.

That is the best I can do, and it is better than we have had in the past around these parts, so take advantage of the opportunity, or forever hold your peace. Beaufort County NOW is your platform, well received by over 9,000 readers per day; so use it often and use it well. The upside: Our community, our society, and future generations of a freedom loving People will be the beneficiaries.

For my part and David's, we will be working on other stuff, creating the better product for the communication of concepts, ideas, ideals, but trust me on this one truth: What you write that appears in Beaufort County NOW will get read, and by a growing audience of folks yearning for real knowledge, and the truth that may be gained from the free expression of unrestricted speech, the free speech of our United States of America; a speech that has never actually been free.

There is, and has always been an unrestricted cost for free speech, a cost we all have to pay. So far, Beaufort County NOW, for the most part, has been mine.

After last month's phenomenal traffic totals for BCN, I just had showcase them once again:
