It should surprise no one that Biden would oppose such a bill. Otherwise, what would be the point of he and his Demon-Crats allowing MILLIONS of Illegal Aliens to freely enter our land and supporting them with whatever they need? Buying Votes -- Buying Votes!

From the article: "Voting for Trump is not a moral option. It is a matter of civic duty. It is an act of democratic defiance against a political system that has become dangerously, structurally, morally corrupt."

I agree. My wife agrees. (She was the first Trump believer in the family)

When the illicit "verdict" was handed down, my wife asked me to go online and find us a TRUMP flag. When the flag arrived this week, I brought down our American flag and hoisted the new TRUMP flag. "TRUMP 2024 Save America Again!"

Don't confuse my intentions with those who wish to destroy America. I think the America I believe in is in great peril. I served America in the U.S. Army. I believe in America. I think America is the greatest country in the world. Well . . . I did . . . until first Barack Obama and now Joe Biden (under Obama's puppeteer control) took the reins of this once great nation.

Folks, the 2024 election is critically important. After his first term, TRUMP now knows who the snakes are (certainly including RINOs), he knows how they operate, and he knows where they hide. He just needs to finish the job and flush them out for all to see.

God Bless America and God Bless Donald J. Trump!

My wife and I have friends who left United and went with Global. It's concerning and sad when congregations don't agree and run off to start a new church. (non-Biblical disagreements) But when a large church body (national / international conference) shoots its own self in the foot [so to speak] and drives off huge numbers of their people, it's particularly saddening.

We are told in the Bible that God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. His sacred Word hasn't changed. And at end of the Revelation, it's even clearly stated that anyone who adds to or takes away from the Word will be judged severely.

Other churches also change their directions, but this is not acceptable in God's sight when it comes to Biblical matters. We are even warned by the early Apostles that wolves will come in sheep's clothing. Happened Then - Still Happening Today.

This article is a great example of how someone's position can evolve over time, once FACTS and actions have been considered. I watched the clip from YouTube about Demon-Crats and their DENIALS of past elections, and it was very enlightening. When Mr. Trump is accused / maligned / and HATED because he questioned the results of the 2020 election, he is simply following what the party of his opponents have been doing all along. Watch the first video link in the article. (Article link at the bottom of this comment)

It's amazing how short our collective memory is in America!

"Dems Plan To Push Abortion Issue As 2nd Anniversary Of Roe Overturning Nears"

It's extremely sad when a political party (or anyone really) supports abortion as a viable option to pregnancy. Although all pregnancies are not planned, the resulting embryo/fetus/child is the most innocent among us. I do understand that a woman's body is HER body. And I do understand a fractional percentage of pregnancies result from criminal actions such as rape or incest. And I do understand that deadbeat guys sometimes don't take responsibility. BUT, how are any of these circumstances the fault of the unborn? Why should their life be snuffed out before it begins?

Even if unplanned pregnancies eventually result in abortion, that certainly should not be the preferred resolution. You as a reader of this post may not believe in God but I do and I believe He provides life. And life should be our choice, not death. I can't imagine a loving God being pleased with our society's callous attitude toward life that He provides.

However, being a Demon-Crat does give one very, very little to pin their hopes to. I get that too. But come on, do something to gain viability and respect and don't retreat further into the darkness.

P.S. And "Planned Parenthood" should be forced to post large notices at all their facilities stating their REAL purpose. Killing innocents is not healthcare.

Those of us in the United States that support the Confederate Cause understand Israel's position. You can be quite RIGHT and still be WRONG in the eyes of today's society.

It's interesting that our institutions of "higher learning" are filled with narcissist IDIOTS that cannot study history, research facts, and arrive at logical conclusions. So why is it that they are in colleges and universities in the first place? Aren't they there to learn? God Forbid!

It incenses me that Biden is spending untold BILLIONS of our tax dollars to build floating piers and send boats, trucks, and planes full of supplies to support Hamas. This may be only my personal opinion, but I don't believe the general Palestinian population can be held blameless for the actions of their entrenched terrorist elements. EVIL begets EVIL.

As to Obama (or as my brother calls him "Obummer") don't get me started! Aside from setting race relations back 50 years, he also greatly accelerated our nation's slide into the abyss.

I am hopeful that our next election can make progress toward righting the ship. Either way, we that still maintain some degree of common sense must continue to work toward holding our elected officials ACCOUNTABLE for their actions.

Good for you Mr. Deatherage! In Pitt County, at our commissioner's meetings we are "allowed" to address the board for 3 minutes (timed) during our public comments session. Beyond that "allowance," I'm not sure how our protocol works. But to your point, we as citizens, should be able to redress grievances. Citizens are often held CAPTIVE to political protocols and their concerns are pushed aside. That of course happens in Pitt County as well.

Hello Liz,

I am fairly new to this publication but was looking through "posting categories" tonight and ran across the Disappearing South category. You have captured the essence of this category with your pictorial expressions exhibited here. I live in Pitt County and often take notice of crumbling houses, barns, and other structures as I drive. Another category beyond the buildings, is the farm equipment graveyards. It's quite sad that we as a society just cast things aside and allow them to decay at their own speed.

And by the way, our historical markers and monuments don't fare much better. I've become much more attuned to history over the last few years . . . but then again . . . I'm a bit of 'history' myself. (old dude)

Sigh. Thanks for sharing your work and your thoughts.

Hmmm, interesting. Glad this one in Georgia went down in flames. From my perspective, politicians excel at one thing: talking out both sides of their mouths. Whether politicians are local, state, or national, we as constituents should pay attention to their actions and hold their feet to the fire. Most of them are aware of the word "transparency," but fail to practice it. Back room deals are the norm and constituents suffer the consequences.

Many of the officers of The Confederate States of America attended West Point. And many of them had served in the U.S. military prior to 1861. So, it's beyond ludicrous that mentions of those officers would be taken down at the military institute where they were educated. Where oh where will this offensive foolishness end?

What's the old Lone Star state de-facto motto: "Don't Mess With Texas!" Works for me.

In North Carolina, we have such a long period of early voting, absentee ballots, should truly be the exception. I kind of like the voting style in some other countries where you vote in person and get a stamp of indelible ink that sticks with you for a few days. Voting (for non-felon CITIZENS) is an honor, a privilege, and a right that should not be infringed BUT neither should it be taken lightly and circumvented. For those who cast illegal votes (and election officials who illegally skew the votes), I have no problem with bringing back the pillory in the public square.

"The Missouri Senate approved a constitutional amendment to ban non-U.S. citizens from voting . . . "

Thank Goodness . . . we DO still have a state legislature with a functioning collective brain!

The AMERICAN election process is for AMERICANS! (minus our criminals)

I've heard Judge April Wood speak on several occasions and was quite impressed with her positions and logic. She is an awesome lady who, in this case, rightly called out an out-of-control, overreaching politician who incorrectly assumes the North Carolina Constitution, the U.S. Constitution, and the laws passed by our state legislators are merely "suggestions." Any politician who thinks and acts as if their power is absolute . . . should be removed from office expeditiously.

During the last election, I had yard signs made up that stated, "Cooper for the Pooper -- Let's Flush the "governor" in November." The signs included a picture of a toilet. I stand by my signs!

Polls are an interesting phenomenon. Very dependent upon who conducts the poll and where it is conducted. BUT . . . in this case, I suspect the REAL SUPPORT for Mr. Trump is actually much higher. I mean come on, anyone who would vote for Biden (except himself and Jill) is a very foolish person with blinders on.

Sounds like Mr. Willie Jones was a very practical thinker.

"Jones opposed ratification (of the Constitution) for several reasons: He feared a standing army, a U.S. Supreme Court that could overrule state court decisions, and a federal government that regulated the economy to benefit a few commercial interests."

"To Jones, the Constitution could be a dangerous instrument of centralization. To prevent it from becoming so, he wanted the document to enumerate specific, individual rights. Until such a list was included, (Bill of Rights) Jones encouraged his colleagues not to ratify the Constitution."

History is so fascinating, and I unfortunately know so little of it. Even more unfortunate is the fact that our current public (tax payer funded) educational system is pathetically woeful when it comes to current students' knowledge of history.

Van Zant - Absolutely Agree.

Country Girl - Since I'm from Pitt County, I follow Mr. Murphy closer than most representatives. I have listened to him speak on a number of occasions; I have written to his office to express my opinions on various issues and responded to some of his online "polls." I'm not saying he's all good or all bad, but he is one that we have to watch. I receive his monthly newsletter and he's very, very, good about pointing out his great support for our military bases and service men and women. However, when the EVIL cabal known as the Federal Renaming Commission started erasing anything Confederate related across our state and our nation, I doubt he did anything to stand up for our Southern heritage and our honorable Confederate soldiers and sailors that were designated years ago by the U.S. Congress as U.S. veterans. Personally, I'm very proud of my family's ancestors who stood in the face of overwhelming odds to protect their friends and family, their livelihoods, and their homeland.

Mr. Lincoln reminds me quite a bit of Joe Biden. He was driven by wealthy industrialists and corrupt politicians like a puppet, to do their bidding to economically rape the Southland and destroy our peaceful way of life.

Perhaps a better definition of CR should be "Caving Republicans." Agreed, working with a very thin majority is most difficult but our Republican representatives have been caving for years and years to get us into this mess. A 34 TRILLION DOLLAR debt is the result of concession after concession after concession. Where will it ever end? Future generations are being encumbered with extreme (unfair) debt due to the vast stupidity and self-centeredness of politicians who care more about the next election cycle than the next generation. SHUT IT DOWN!

My wife and I were at a Trump rally during the 2022 election cycle in Wilmington and when Bo was introduced, all 'his people' stood up, starting chanting, and waving their BO TIME signs. At that point, we didn't know him, but we were impressed with his enthusiastic supporters.
