Let's talk Beaufort County with its inflated property evaluations and jail issues that badly need resolving.

I talked a few days ago with one who has lived here since the 90's. His comment was that we had a functional and collegial representation ~~~ UNTIL we started following the hate of national politics.

I think we should lead by example rather than be poisoned into hate . . .

The Community College concept is to train technical skills much needed today. Sadly, our regular colleges have been turned into party central with sports teams to entertain idiots of ego.

The show was he best I have ever seen done by high school age talent. The Performing Arts Center will seat 1200, but the 2 performances I attended had about 1/4 of the seats filled.

They have done big name shows since 1983. The list includes Sound of Music, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Wizard of Oz---all the big songs one can remember.

I intend to make this a highlight of my year in the future. They badly need a sound system upgrade. I understand when the smaller schools consolidated all the money from each was to go toward the Performing Arts Center. In typical Beaufort County fashion, some politics intervened and NOW the children suffer . . .

The quick disappearance of my report on the BOEM critical meeting at Manteo sure disappeared fast, Stan. Does this mean you view Offshore Drilling as a minor issue for us????

According to the big picture they have a website to receive comments at boemoceaninfo.com . We are in the "60-day Scoping Period" / next they draft a program / 45-day comment period / 30 day waiting period / final 2017-2022 program is birthed into our lives for the benefit of Big Oil to rape NC. The process is poorly explained in the media and Representative Jones is likely getting paid to hide all he can with big oil backing. Also our Governor is supposed to have a big say in this and we know his ways with the Duke Ash Dumps on the Haw River . . .

I think we have a sad history of blocking immigrants from become citizens quickly enough. In my view, we should go to any places they work and give them instant SS numbers just like we do a newborn baby. Doing such provides them an ID and opportunity to pay their fair share of taxes.

At the same time, we have a way to know if those who employ them are paying a minimum wage and providing them with the same things given regular employees of all businesses. I suspect this is one aversion to a raised minimum wage, but it costs to live in America and they need not sleep under the stars to help harvest our crops and do other things even our nationalized poor refuse to do.

Maybe we should change welfare to require 40 hours of labor at any job available before another check is written or WIC card given out . . .

Stan--- your answer, like your "surveys" shows clearly your bias to, not just conservatism, but ultra-conservatism. Beware the line between good journalism and thinking and becoming a propagandist . . .

You are seeing some serious doubting cropping up as you pursue this race to your goal. If you really want a widening readership, I suggest you solicit and publish more of us who are, at least, middle-of-the-road. The very fact you first gave me that title and now keep slinging "liberal" at me, tells me how far to the right you have become.

A bench with too much cotton too far away from center, even lets something as light as cotton tip it and make if fall over . . .

I view her as possible "fluffer" who prepares Conservatives for a porno run at the Presidency. If they do as expected, they will make monkeys of themselves and then she steps aside for a legitimate Democrat like Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sauders (who is an outspoken Independent) to join together and rid us of another Bush . . .

The bill sounds wise. Thus far it is not bi-partisan in support. I fail to see how any would object to a better and more transparent way of giving insurance coverage to all.

Right now we have a moratorium of issuing policies to any east of I-95. That only makes the Insurance companies more rich by denying coverage in Coastal Carolina.

Now you have entered the realm of Conservative Psychosis, Stan. I watched first-hand while Southern Baptist Conservatives told every lie in the book about my Seminary Professors to the point average Baptists, in Texas especially, believed they were all "Secular Humanists."

Here is your combo of Conservative Psychosis = strange term that average people do not understand / people pretending to conserve a "true faith" by meeting in airports and plotting how to take over from one half of Baptists that which they had given and worked to achieve~~~as if only their side was right . . .

I am here to tell you that I am a believer in Christ / I attended Southeastern Seminary in it's "Liberal" days ~~~ IT WAS ALL A LIE BY CONSERVATIVES ONLY TO OWN IT ALL!!! My Professors were far more ethical than their detractors, my brother!

Good Southern religion, like good Southern politics, is a mix of people who are ALL CONSERVATIVE because we ACTUALLY conserve our valued traditions. When you take a Republican like Dwight Eisenhower of the 50's "good" Conservatism vs. those who are now running Congress and seeking the next presidential bid ~~~ you have a bunch of pretenders, in my view. . .

If you want to discuss it, let's get together and let me show you my files on the takeover of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. The new Conservative version taught from the same textbooks as my old "Liberal SEBTS", my friend. They used the terms of "secular humanist" in abundance ~~~ If you can tell me how that is evil, then you stand a chance in this discussion.
