Lunch & Shoot Club opinion:
Combat Carl: Why an AR15 is not the problem. The first thing we did in Vietnam when we surrounded a village to provide Medical assistance was to search for weapons cache. While it may seem counter intuitive, the entire premise of our earlier efforts was based on the Search and Destroy tactic to disarm the entire public. Both friend and foe alike. It obviously did not work and would never work in the USA. Well-armed individuals can wreak havoc on a larger unit by merely harassing intermittently. Each occasion will give them the opportunity to rearm with more advanced weapons taken from their small engagements. The distinction of an individual needing an AR15 and a population being sufficiently armed to prevent subjection by a government is not lost on your gun store owner. I tend to agree with his reading of the second amendment. Its purpose was to prevent an over abusive government from disarming the populace on an individual as well as a group basis. Once disarmament has been accomplished the other freedoms are easy pickings. Speech, Search and Seizures, Right to Trial. All rest on the ability of the population to rise and prevent the slow encroachment of government on the rights one brick at a time. I can understand how moderate thinkers fall for the COMMON-SENSE gun control argument, but the constitution was not written to provide POPULATION CONTROL, it was written to provide GOVERNMENT CONTROL. Once you cross the Rubicon of trying to determine an individual's NEEDS regarding this or that weapon you are well on you way to controlling every aspect of their life. Your analysis of "going postal" is a prime example of unchecked authority. How many of us have stood in line to be abused by postal workers, DMV clerks, Social Security administrators or possibility just a VA staff who have let the limited power they possess to go to their head? The do not fear loss of job because the system is set up for life time employment. Can you imagine the hubris of the leaders of a country that has the same mentality of the clerks mentions above? Certainly, there are some meaningful restriction on the lawful purchase and possession of weapons is possible. However, no law or restrictions will prevent a dedicated group from obtaining weapon through whatever means necessary to accomplish their purpose.

The article was quickly written after I caused Gun Store Bob to go slightly postal. He just sent this response to the article and we are back to normal. He says:
Some conservatives will go postal when you talk gun control, that’s true. However, some will simply look at what their forefathers were thinking and what they where trying to interpret for years to come to the best of their ability and try to interpret their intent in a changing and more modern Country. As a direct descendant of some of these men, and as a Son of the Revolution, I think long and hard about these matters and formulate a truth that must be applicable to all! When they were writing these eternal commands I can only imagine that they were done in an order that was of the most importance’s to them as they sure did put a lot of thought in the issues themselves. With this in mind, I always find it interesting that the 2nd Amendment was Weapon related. It was a forgone conclusion that everybody would have a weapon, they just wanted to firm it that Tyranny could be met with force. They certainly could not have imagined a weapon such as the government has available to them, but they sure did give way to the right of anyone to have the same if they could. Surely anyone who reads it could draw these conclusions, wouldn’t you agree? So, if you do or should, because that’s what it allows for, then certainly you would agree that the AR platform is as close to the weapon that a Reservist would carry? Can a National Guardsman be spied on by a private investigator? Could they be accosted and have their identity and belongings stolen from them? Could someone assume their identity and obtain access to military weapons? You were in the military, could an extremely smart and well funded individual gain access to Military Grade Weaponry? You know as well as I that the answer is yes. Isn’t this what gun runners do? This part I don’t know? Do gunrunners have good military weapons? Do military weapons go missing? Doesn’t the radical groups fighting Americans all across deserts overseas fight with a simple AK47? Isn’t it a tactic of war to plan for things like this? Just because you can’t imagine it does that mean that it isn’t a possibility or even an inevitable? I said all that to say this: the Amendment says, The Right of the People to keep and Bear Arms, Shall NOT be infringed. Ted, banning anything is not allowed. Unless of course you run across someone who doesn’t care what the Forefathers saw as absolute, and says or agrees that yea, but! There is no but, it simply is what it is and as a Man, a Christian Man, a Man with strong Convictions, I can only say, “How can you think this?” Especially someone who loves this Country, a Conservative, a person that can understand what the words mean and what they say”. Anyone like that should re-evaluate their thought process and learn the law and how quickly its eroding because strong conservatives giving way, here and there. Because it might hurt someone’s feelings if you speak the truth and then stand firm on it like an American should. I’m the later, I believe that God was directing these men, and they were searching for him when they formed what America would Stand For. (Stand For, isn’t that permission to strongly disagree with and rebuke if necessary?) I believe that the Constitution of These United States of America were God Inspired and the Bible clearly tells us that you are not to add or Take Anything Away from it!! I believe the same is true for the Amendments. Thank you for your service good sir! And Merry Christmas!

Having a juvenile record is serious. But, unlike an adult criminal record, it can be expunged — either destroyed or sealed — when you reach a certain age. Judge K should expunge his record if guilty of this teenage event.

A county commission (also known as a board of county commissioners) is a group of elected officials charged with administering the county government in some states of the United States. County commissions are usually made up of three or more individuals. In some counties in Georgia however, a sole commissioner holds the authority of the commission.
The commission acts as the executive of the local government, levies local taxes, administers county governmental services such as prisons, courts, public health oversight, property registration, building code enforcement, and public works such as road maintenance. The system has been supplanted in large part as disparate sparsely settled regions become urbanized and establish tighter local governmental control usually in municipalities, but in many more rural states the county commission retains more control and even in some urbanized areas may be responsible for significant government services.
