Dan Forest today claimed victory (again) in the race for Lt. Governor and called on his opponent, Linda Coleman, to concede the race.

Coleman, the former Democrat legislator and state personnel chief, was backed to the hilt this year by the state's powerful public employees union.

In the North Carolina Lt. Governor's Race, Democrat Linda Coleman lost to Republican Dan Forest by 11,103 votes out of 4,331,101 votes cast for this office.

Overall, it's looking like a pretty depressing election day for the Democrat Party in-state and nationwide.

According the latest polling released yesterday by Public Policy Polling, Dan Forest has opened up a lead in the race for Lt. Governor, while polling double digits in 4 out of 6 regions of the state (the only candidate for Lt. Governor to hit that mark).
