There are approximately 48,000 people in Beaufort County with approximately 32,000 registered voters. The Democrats control half of this number with the remainder being split between the Republicans and the Unaffiliated voters.

Grand Juries are required by General Statute to inspect the county jail one time each year. The Beaufort County Grand Jury did its duty according to their report dated June 23, 2014.

Sheriff Alan Jordan made known to the county manager that I, a Beaufort County Commissioner, would not be allowed to enter "his building" if I showed up to accompany the structural engineer on his inspection of the building. This happened on Thursday April 10th.

On October 1, 2012 at approximately 3:30 p.m. I saw a woman walking down the yellow line on John Small Avenue near Frank's Pizza. She appeared to be in a daze and was oblivious to the vehicles whizzing by.

On May 19, 2011 at approximately 9:23 a.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a structure fire on Jack’s Street in Mimosa Mobile Home Park in Washington. Deputies and fire fighters responded to the location to find an uninhabited singlewide home in flames.
