The House passes and sends to the Senate a bill funding the Government (but for ObamaCare) through mid-December. Harry Reid pronounces it dead on arrival and claims that the Reps are trying to shut down the Government. It is difficult to understand how someone who is trying to fund the government is responsible for shutting down the Government while someone who refuses to even take a vote on the bill submitted by the House is not.

The Anointed One travels to Missouri to tell us that the Reps. are "fooling with him" instead of worrying about the middle class. He says that the Reps are trying to shut down the government. It is difficult to understand why that message couldn't have been delivered from the White House Rose Garden or someplace closer to the oval office. (More about that later.)

Nancy Pelosi says that the Reps are trying to shut down the government.

It seems as though the only person missing from this soap opera (or is it circus??) was Ms. Schumer's boy, Charlie. With so many TV mikes and cameras around, that is hard to believe he didn't make the scene, but...

The Reps pass a bill funding the government (but for Obamacare - which is not supported by a fairly large majority of the American public). The funding bill is rejected by Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and the Prez and it is the Reps who are trying to shut down the Government?? Give me a break!! Is that what you call convoluted logic?? Whatever it is called, the Dems have demonstrated a real ability to make folks believe it. That is well beyond their propensity for convincing folks of the efficacy of their "plausible lies".

It is time - nay, it is past time - that the blame for a Government shutdown (if it happens) is placed squarely where it belongs. On the reportedly egocentric Pres and his merry group of sycophants headed by the recalcitrants Harry Reid and Madame Pelosi. If the Government gets shut down it should be clear to everyone who is paying attention that it is the Dems who are responsible for not accepting the funding bill approved in the House.

Unfortunately, aside from Eric Canter and possibly a few others, no one Among the Reps seems to be willing even try to put the public straight on this issue. Every Republican should be "shouting from the rooftops" with the real story of who will really be responsible for the shutdown if it happens. The Newt Gingrich shutdown could well have been the responsibility of the Reps. The Dems continue to cling to that story and invariably seem to succeed in laying the blame on the Reps. It is time for the Reps to "push back" against the Dem's misleading rhetoric. In fact rather than waiting for a Dem pronouncement to react to, it is time for the Reps to get there first with their story. The long suffering public needs to hear the truth at the beginning of the conversation for a change.

And then there is the Prez and his demonstrated willingness to add to the nation's carbon footprint. He goes to MO this past week (another week - another campaign trip) for yet another campaign speech - this one denigrating the Reps. That little trip costs in the neighborhood of a million and a quarter dollars (estimated 7 flight hours x $180K/flight hour - not counting all the ancillary costs such as for the Secret Service etc.) The concern for saving taxpayer money around the White House seems to be centered on cancelling visits by school children from around the country who have scrimped and saved to pay for a trip to D.C. to see the sights and especially to visit the White House. At the same time that the Anointed is ignoring the (mostly) middle class kids, he is spending taxpayer dollars like there is no tomorrow flying all over the country to make campaign speeches. In doing so he is managing to create a carbon footprint even larger that his new EPA Administrator, Gina McCarthy, can overcome with her shutdown of the coal industry. Surely it is the Reps who are to blame. What makes Ms. McCarthy's pronouncement so sad is the leaked UN climate change draft report on global warming. The truly sad part is that so called "global warming" scientists reportedly seem to be trying very hard to find excuses for the conclusion in the draft report that the globe has been cooling rather than warming. It would seem as though these so called "climate scientists" are trying to emulate their British brethren whose lack of integrity was exposed when their e-mail correspondence was leaked. Hmmm...

Unfortunately, that is making thinking people suspicious of what legitimate scientists are reporting (no matter what the subject). The legitimate scientists deserve better, but won't get anywhere near the respect they deserve until the global warming charlatans are gone.

Honesty and integrity would seem to be as foreign to them as it is to many of the Anointed One's spear carriers.
