Koran War + 70

ENCNow

July 27, 2024 came and went and there was no mention of the end of the Korean war on this date in 1954.  70 years ago this closed a war that some measures estimate killed or missing in action 4.2 million people.

The United States fought the North Koreans and the Chinese Army in such bloody battles at Pork Chop Hill where our soldiers were using their dead comrades as shields to advance up the hill.  And Frozen Chosin where eight thousand fighters, most of them US Marines, struggled to survive the coldest North Korean winter in 100 years surrounded by 120,000 Chinese Soldiers.

The North Korean prisons should be remembered where American POW’s suffered extreme torture and malnutrition during the war.

What started the Korean War?

Ai Overview:   The Korean War began on June 25, 1950, when North Korea's People's Army (NKPA) invaded South Korea, crossing the 38th parallel that divided the two countries. The war was the result of years of tension on the Korean peninsula, and North Korea's goal was to unify the country under communism. North Korean leader Kim Il-sung launched the attack after receiving a promise of support from Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, who was convinced that the United States would not get involved.

The Cold War conflict was a civil war that became a proxy battle between the superpowers as they clashed over Communism and Democracy.  It was a civil war and about 70 percent of those who died were civilians.  President Truman ordered US Forces into South Korea.  Truman thought “Democrats needed to look tough on Communism and he used Korea to send a message that the U.S will “contain” communism and come to the aid of their allies.  On June 27, 1950 President Truman ordered U.S forces to South Korea to repulse the North’s invasion.  The United States never formally declared war on North Korea.  Instead, Truman referred to the addition of ground troops as a “Police Action”

Now we are involved with many nations.  Communism has never worked.  It is estimated by several institutes that over 100 million people died under communism during the 20th Century.  Starvation and famine may have caused many of these deaths.

No matter where it was tried, communism has always resulted in mountains of dead bodies. As for socialist economics, it has always resulted in shortages, inefficiency, poverty, and desperation. The verdict of history is clear, but only if people are willing to see it.

While our youth are being indoctrinated in our Public Schools for Socialism and Liberalism, they should also be taught, “Old men start wars for Young men to die.”

While Korea is the forgotten war, we face what could be the most devastating war in the history of the world.  Will it be for Communism, Socialism or “I don’t know and I don’t care?”
