Former President Donald Trump touted an endorsement from a former leader of Black Lives Matter on Wednesday, saying that he was "very honored" to have his endorsement as well as "BLM's support."

Mark Fisher, who Fox News reports is the co-founder of Black Lives Matter Rhode Island, told the network that the Democrat Party was "not for" black people and that they were hypocrites.

Fisher said Trump had done more for black people than the Democrat Party has recently. The activist also said earlier this month that he endorsed Trump "because everybody else sucks."

"You know, I like Trump personally and I think right now who we have sitting in the Oval Office is just a deep disappointment," he said. "I deeply have disdain for him and I really dislike the vice president [Kamala Harris] as well."

Trump responded to the BLM activist's praise by praising him on social media and floating the possibility that he has done more for black people than any other president in history.

"Spoke with Mark Fisher yesterday, a great guy, very honored to have his and BLM's support," Trump said. "I have done more for Black people than any other President (Lincoln?), including 10 year funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities, where they had none, Opportunity Zones, Criminal Justice Reform, and much more. Thank you to Mark!"

Newsweek reported that a spokesperson for BLM Rhode Island told the media outlet that Fisher is "no longer affiliated with BLM RI." The group added, "His position with us was and is terminated."

Black Lives Matter has faced intense criticism for weeks, including from Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) on Wednesday, after various chapters have publicly expressed support for Hamas' terrorist attacks against Israel.

The pro-Marxist group was also responsible for much of the billions of dollars of damage that were inflicted upon U.S. cities during the George Floyd riots in the Summer of 2020. Thousands of law enforcement officials were attacked and injured during the riots.
