NCInnovation: the corrupt slush fund boondoggle in NC budget | Eastern North Carolina Now

$500 million corrupt waste, thanks to progressive Phil Berger

ENCNow

There was quite a bit of good in NC's budget, and thanks to the Freedom Caucus in the NC House, it does not include Phil Berger's casinos.  However, another of Berger's corrupt deals to the tune of $500 million, NCInnovation, was part of the budget.

Government picking winners and losers in business is not free enterprise. Many call it socialism, but it is actually a concept of a different totalitarian ideology, namely fascism.  It is part of the core economic tenant of fascism, the corporate state.

NCInnovation's top leader and promoter is a retired CEO of the most "woke" bank in North Carolina.  Many of its top staff are long time Democrat left political activists.  What could go wrong with such an organization?  The state is giving them a $500 million slush fund.

Progressive left Governor Cooper asked for $50 million for NCInnovation in his proposed budget.  Progressive Republican NC House Speaker Tim Moore gave him the full amount he asked for in the budget passed by the NC House.  When it got to the state Senate, ultra progressive Senate President Pro Tem upped the amount to $1.4 billion in the senate budget, and fought to keep it there.  The final budget put $500 million of the NC taxpayers money into this slush fund boondoggle.

Republicans badly need a real Republican running the Senate and that starts with ousting the Berger Republicans at the local level, such as RINO State Sen. Jim Perry in the local district.  Perry supported this ridiclous NCInnovation slush fund, and he is a staunch backer of Berger.  Perry is one of the key Bergerites who needs to be taken out in the primary.

The important thing is that Phil Berger is leading the Senate GOP to the hard left, and those who keep him in control, like Jim Perry, need to be replaced. Perry, himself, has a long record of supporting liberal positions on major issues, but it is his backing Berger that means he needs to be replaced.

Oh, and crocodile tears to the media mean absolutely NOTHING when Perry's actual vote is for $1.4 Billion to this leftwing slush fund.

Talk is cheap. Perry's votes are what counts. That is only a smokescreen. What is the old saying about "all talk and no DO"?

Maybe "Casino Jim" Perry's vocal support of such leftwing programs as the Obamacare Medicaid expansion, the NC Green New Deal (HB951), the Blue Cross raid on its reserves, and gambling bills, which also matched up with his votes for those issues are causing him to want a little deniability by setting up a smokescreen.

You are such a liar. Perry is quoted by WRAL on July 14th being critical of NC innovation. All anyone has to do is Google it. The headline says he is one of the more vocal critics.

Perry is quoted on June 16th by the News and Observer "Senator Jim Perry also criticized NC Innovation."

NCInnovation is a terrible misuse of taxpayer money but it is par for the course for an Obama Republican like Phil "Boss Hogg" Berger. Berger already pushed through a lot of Cooper and Biden's agenda like the Obamacare Medicaid expansion and the Green New Deal, and "Casino Jim" Perry was right there with him on all of this left wing legislation. Both need to be run out of office on a rail by primary voters.
