Brian Alligood Hired as Washington's City Manager | Eastern NC Now

Mayor Archie Jennings and the City Council for the City of Washington announced the appointment of Brian Alligood to the position of City Manager for the City of Washington, North Carolina.

The Mayor and City Council for the City of Washington announce the appointment of Brian Alligood as its next City Manager.

Jennings and the City Council for the City of Washington announced the appointment of Brian Alligood to the position of City Manager for the City of Washington, North Carolina.

    Mr. Alligood is currently serving as the County Manager for Granville County, North Carolina, a position he has held since 2006. In his current role as County Manager he oversees an organizational budget in excess of $50 million with over 250 full-time employees. Prior to his role in Granville County, Brian worked for Martin-McGill, Inc, a private firm that offers a wide array of management consulting, project management, public planning, and financial services to entities throughout the Southeastern US. Brian has also served as the Town Manager for Boiling Springs, NC, Deputy County Manager for Granville County, NC, and has held various other positions within the North Carolina Department of Transportation and the Western Carolina University Medical Service.

    Brian holds a Bachelor Science in Civil Engineering from NC State University, a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Care from Western Carolina University, and a Master of Public Administration from NC State University.

    "I am excited about the appointment of Brian to the City Manager position with the City of Washington. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will continue to move our organization and our community forward," said Archie Jennings, Mayor.

    Brian will begin his position as City Manager on July 1st.
