Esther earned her RN in nursing from Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Following graduation she did private duty nursing until her marriage to Louie Edward Bowman. When her children were grown, Esther returned as a psychiatric nurse in a private mental hospital in St. Vincents, located in St. Louis County. She was a gardner, delighting in raising herbs and was a serious Christian enjoying the music at 1st Presbyterian Church in Washington especially the trumpet player Ed Bach, who Esther said, "Soundedlike Gabriel playing his horn". In her youth she took voice lessons amd played the piano. She influenced many through her quiet wit and charm. She will be missed by her family and special friend, Rick Adamie.
