No school shootings have occured where teachers armed for classroom defense | Eastern North Carolina Now

a poliicy that works

ENCNow

A proven method to stop school shootings is to train and arm properly vetted teachers. There has not been a single school shooting in a school that has that policy.  Mass shooters are cowards and don't want to face someone shooting back, so they look for gun free zones for their attacks.

They weren't rent a cops. But I agree with the notion of arming everyone. Lets do it. What could go wrong?

There have been lots of cases of a good guy or gal with a gun stopping a criminal or terrorist.

What happened at Uvalde was rent-a-cops being cowards and even stopping outside lae enforcement from going in. In the Nashville terrorist atack by a transgender, on the other hand, local law enforcement went into action immediately and took down the terrorist. That terrorist specifically picked that school as a target because she determined that it was gun free whereas her other investigated targets had armed defenders present.

A sign outside a school saying something like "staff are armed and will defend this school, outside guns prohibited" would be a huge deterent to these terrorists because most of them are cowards and want to attack where people are not armed to shoot back. We do not need to let our schools be soft targets.

Maybe, but like Uvalde TX, the armed and trained men failed miserably. I'm sure 3rd grade teacher Miss Betty will do much better.

The Parkland attack is what motivated the Florida legislature to pass the bill to allow armed teachers. If they had those during the Parkland attack, it would have been a different story. In fact, as no longer a soft target, it would have probably detered the shooter from even attempting it.

Parkland, FL? The armed officer ran like a baby and was fired.

Where it is being done, it is working. Florida has approved it statewide.

I just said do it. If it works great. If it doesn't, then what? I suggested common sense regulations. What do you suggest we do, if arming the teachers doesn't work?

Bob seems to want gun free zones. I suggest he set the example by posting a sign in his front yard that reads, "This house has no guns".

I say go for it. Why not. Right now the kids are getting shot up at an alarming rate. Teach Miss Betty to carry and use a fire arm, send her into the classroom. Let her carry the weight of defending the kids. See if it works. All I ask is, if it doesn't , and it wont, can we then agree on common sense gun control laws?
