Is the RINO Herd Re-forming? | Eastern North Carolina Now

It seems like ages ago, but there was once a RINO herd in Beaufort County, and it formed once to stamp out principled Conservatives.

As I remember, they formed well: moved methodically in classic herd directive, knew immediate success, put forth RINO candidates, exorcised elected Conservatives from any party function, gave great succor and installation to a convicted disloyal party chairman; made giddy by their immediate success, they stamped, blew their hot breath of success and moved in the perfect mental acuity of the herd - always the herd.

How did that all work out?

In a phrase: Not too good.

Their RINO candidates did poorly at the polls, the exorcised elected Conservative - me - handily won re-election, their disloyal, championed party chairman self-destructed, lost direction and faded into political oblivion, the herd broke from the fallow of their inept performance and wandered directionless, dramatically weakened. Slinking off, away from the herd, and continuing forward; however directionless, they congregate still to give money and great succor to Democrat politicians that will, in turn, pay them back with the public's wealth and the public's privilege.

Besides being completely disingenuous, unprincipled people, RINOs always expect payback for their support. This co-dependent relationship with their political favorites is the primary catalyst as to why their championed elected representatives are so inarguably bad at governing, even to the point of abject stupidity in the dispensation of their elected duties. Ironically, in any well functioning republic, politicians often well represent their constituents, irrespective of whether that representation is favorable or no.

The convective end of this RINO malaise was in 2006; it is now 2013, and there are rumors of their re-forming to take back the Beaufort County Republican political platform, especially for County Commissioners, and make that platform safe for the politically androgynous Republicans - unprincipled and flaccid - capable of working well with liberal Democrats. And let us be honest about this one truth: Because of Beaufort County's "Limited Voting" method, only liberal Democrats are elected in these parts.

Former Beaufort County Chairman, RINO Larry Britt, unrepentantly believes that it is a true mark of statesmanship for RINO county commissioners to fall under the sway of Liberal bipartisanship, and as he has stated as you see by following these links, it is his desire to proffer this ambition whenever possible.

The bipartisan Liberal/RINO wall of governing wisdom, inextricably interlinked for strength, has given Beaufort County: drastically overbuilt schools, a bridge west of Washington when the county broadly lies to its east, a hospital mismanaged, a hospital bid process criminally destroyed and a hospital given to the lowest bidder, a misguided, directionally challenged RINO controlled EDC fraught with favoritism and waste, a proposed prematurely decided jail in placement and design, and spending and, or tax increases every year of their (RINO/Democrat) bonded coalition. This RINO/Democrat codependent form of governing is anathema to good governing, but it is also a must for special interest to thrive.

Special interest governing is the "mother's milk" for RINO politics, and their resultant governing status. While this truth is the sustenance of all unprincipled politicians, it is their bane as well. Special interest governing is always an egregious exercise of playing favorites in the arena of the People's government, and leaves copious "bread crumbs" of evidence as to who pays, who provides and who benefits. RINOs should now rethink that favored brand of governing hence, since much has changed from the malaise of the herd's last movement into RINOism.

Be aware that since those heady days of the first formation of the RINO herd, where I would argue that we eventually and most deftly wrested any real, sustainable power from their unstable hands, much has changed. Since those tested times, when there was just two real Republican elected, County Commissioners Hood Richardson and Stan Deatherage (Hood Richardson was the second Republican ever re-elected in this county of Beaufort, and I was the first), we now have 4 real Republicans representing this county, and a 5th, County Commissioner Gary Brinn (I expect 2 years voting record or similar proof), waiting in the wings, with NC Senator Bill Cook, and NC Representative Michael Speciale representing us in Raleigh rounding out the bunch.

Furthermore, in 2006, we had no real media presence. Today, with the Beaufort Observer and Beaufort County NOW, we have the two largest online publications discussing politics in northeastern North Carolina. Since I own the proprietary delivery system for BCN, for which I am publisher, I am expanding into additional county's where I can find a publisher. No longer will I shrink from the negative effects of the lies of liars. Now, I can easily refute them, offer space for rebuttal, and make money all the while. Cool huh?

In past there was a certain "cocktail knowlege" among the chattering class, that there was strength in their numbers, and their money, and when they won, and in in their case (the case of the RINO) lost, punishment would be handed out publicly, privately, socially and economically. For the pseudo elite of Beaufort County, this has long been a tool to control the uncontrollable. While this measure; however insipidly base, had power in the past, it is obviously not working so well anymore. I exclusively would like to thank the indomitable will and collective spirit of the principle Republicans that have outlasted the elitist RINO class, and to a slightly less extent, to democratization of the internet, where the better argument, at least to exist, has a chance to thrive, and in Beaufort County it has; and understandably, we are sustainably, irrevocably well ahead of that RINO class.

So organize, drink cocktails, watch down your noses at the principled commonality of true Republicans, and understand this one immutable truth: In your efforts, you will lose, whether this season or the next.

I will make sure of it.

What do you reckon that I will not be the only one sharing this inspiration in principle?
