NC DPI fires professor for opposing teaching of CRT; he sues them | Eastern North Carolina Now

DPI head is a RINO Republican

ENCNow

Dr. David Phillips taught for eight summers as a English professor at the NC Governors School and was a respected member of the faculty.  Then in the summer of 2021, Dr. Phillips gave three optional lectures opposing the teaching of the racially divicisive Critical Race Theory.  He was fired soon after the last lecture and the lectures were given as the reason for his firing.  The NC Governors School is run directly by the NC Department of Public Instruction, and Dr. Phillips has filed suit against them for unlawful firing. He is being represented by a national organization supporting academic freedom for conservatives.

The head of the NC Department of Public Instruction is Catherine Truitt, who was elected to that office as a Republican.  She has betrayed GOP voters by condoning this firing.  Why is Truitt standing up for the radical CRT???

I knew that Catherine Truitt was a phony when she immediately hired a very liberal Democrat as her chief deputy superintendant. Real Republicans hire conservatives in their key staff positions, not liberal Democrats. Since then it has been one thing after another where she has been caught taking the liberal position. This fake has earned a very strong primary challlenge in 2024. This firing is just the latest incident, and they just keep coming with her.

Another example of the political corruption within the Republican Party. Disloyalty seems to be the campus "in thing". Resignations are in order.
