$16 Billion in corrupt "Earmarks" in omnibus spending bill | Eastern North Carolina Now

McConnell backed bill would neuter new GOP House majority for first year

ENCNow

For years, so-called "earmarks" were a corrupt way of buying Congressioinal votes for passage of legislation.  In the Tea Party era, they were banned and remained so until recently.  Now the Mitch McConnell-backed "omnibus" spending bill contains $16 billion in this corrupt spending.

The bill would also neuter the new GOP House majority for its first year, depriving it of one of its main powers, the power of the purse through the lame duck setting spending for the full year.  The alternative is a short "continuing resolution" until the new House majority is sworn in.

This is a stock McConnell move to help the Democrats pull their chestnuts out of the fire.  McConnell is not just a useful idiot for the Democrats, but is a deliberate traitor to the Republican Party, of the Benedict Arnold ilk.

McConnell has sold us out to the Democrats AGAIN. We can expect RINOs Tillis and Burr to go along with that as well. With "Republicans" like McConnell, Tillis, and Burr, who needs Democrats? Will Ted Budd be any better? He certainly was in the House, so I am still keeping my fingers crossed on him in the Senate. McConnell is as much of a spendtrhrit as Sshumer. They are two peas in a leftwing pod.
