Florida Governor Ron DeSantis downplayed Wednesday suggestions that there was a "civil war brewing" between himself and former President Donald Trump for the party's 2024 presidential nomination.

DeSantis made the remarks in response to a question while he was speaking in Matlacha, Florida, with officials about the state's Hurricane Ian recovery efforts.

"We just finished this election, okay?" DeSantis said. "People just need to chill out a little bit on some of this stuff. I mean, seriously, we just ran an election. We have this Georgia runoff coming, which is very important for Republicans to win that Georgia runoff."

"I mean, I know around the country, Florida was kind of the biggest bright spot, it was not so bright in many other parts of the country," he continued. "It was a substandard performance given the dynamics that are at play."

DeSantis said that he was given the opportunity to continue as the state's governor is because he focused on leading and delivering results for the residents of Florida.

DeSantis said that he wasted no time getting back to work after winning re-election last week in blowout fashion over Democratic opponent Charlie Crist.

"So at the end of the day, I think what we showed in Florida is just produce results, lead with conviction," he said. "I never put my finger in the wind or took polls, I just did what I thought that was right. But what the election gives us the opportunity to do is to continue to deliver. And so we're going to continue to deliver, we're not going to look back. And I think that that's very, very significant."

"But what I think Florida has shown is that, you look at all the problems that the country is having with the inflation, the open border, all these different things, a lot of failures," he continued. "Florida is an example that you know what, you can get the big things right, you can get things right."

He concluded addressing the issue by saying that he was focused on what more he could do to continue to make his state lead the country in governing.

"You know, the good thing about winning a big victory, we've got super majorities in the legislature now, and really, I think have have an opportunity to continue great momentum," he said.

In the most recent Midterms Election, the "Republican Red Wave" turned out to be a "Republican Red Ripple," which, as in all elections, confounded the political prognosticators of what to expect down the governing /political road: What, and who, do you think is best for this meandering Representative Republic in the near future?
Because they know how to best allocate the public's money back to the right part of the public, the Democrats will NOW always prevail and get my vote.
With patriotic pragmatism the cornerstone of the best of the Republican Party, they will ultimately save this Constitutional Republic from self-destruction.
Since the Executive Branch is so important to turn this Representative Republic around, I am still on Team Trump in 2024.
Since the nation may need a different path to Conservative patriotism in the Executive, I am joining Team DeSantis.
Because I am entitled to take the government dole, the prevailing favoritism whenever possible, I will support any, and every Democrat candidate.
