NC Farmers Fact-Check Beasley Pre-Debate! | Eastern North Carolina Now

Largest Farmers’ Organization in the United States Fact Checks (and Crushes) Cheri Beasley’s False Narrative the Day Before She Can Misrepresent the Views of NC Farmers on the Debate Stage

ENCNow
Press Release:

Cheri Beasley and her pals keep lying to the people of North Carolina by claiming Ted Budd isn't a friend to farmers. But yesterday, farmers wiped out Beasley's field of false narratives when the largest farmers' organization in the United States presented Ted Budd with the "Friend of Farm Bureau" Award. Ted Budd and Cheri Beasley spoke back-to-back yesterday at the NC Agribusiness Council forum. We weren't allowed in there when Beasley was speaking so we don't know what she said. Maybe Beasley told them about how happy she was to support the Joe Biden policies that yielded the inflation that is crushing their family farm budgets? All we can tell you is right after they spoke to some of North Carolina's top agriculture folks, Ted received the award.

The award is given "to members of Congress who have supported Farm Bureau's position on policy issues, as demonstrated by their voting records, and who were nominated by their respective state Farm Bureaus and approved by the AFBF Board of Directors." So don't fall for it if any silly Beasley comms folks try to spin you with some sort of lame "this is a DC Insider Deal and Cheri is an Outsider" flex. You don't get named a friend of farmers unless your home state farmers, the ones who know you the best, nominate you for the award.

In other words, anyone who knows anything about NC agriculture knows Ted Budd supports farmers and the NC Agriculture economy.

But don't take our word for it. Lord knows Samantha and Felts don't know the first thing about farming. I mean, seriously, could you imagine either one of them trying to drive a tractor or do whatever it is you do with cows and chickens?

But you know who does know a lot about farming? NC Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler and here's what he has to say about Ted Budd:

"Ted Budd grew up on a family farm and knows what obstacles farmers face. He doesn't pretend that makes him a farmer, but Ted Budd is the best candidate in this race if you care like I do about agriculture and the farm families who feed the world. Our family farmers are suffering right now due to high gas prices and out of control inflation. I have worked closely with Ted Budd to help our state's agriculture and rural communities thrive and he's always been there for us. We need a Senator who will fight for NC farmers and that person is Ted Budd."
