Senator Hirono Calls Fighting Pro-Lifers ‘Literally’ A ‘Call To Arms’ After Pro-Life Centers Attacked | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) called the political Left's opposition to Republicans' pro-life agenda "literally" a "call to arms in our country" during remarks Wednesday on the Senate floor.

    Hirono's remarks come after churches and pro-life pregnancy centers and organizations came under attack following the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Data compiled by the Susan B. Anthony List and CatholicVote found that dozens of centers were attacked since the the early May leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion on the Court's ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade.

    "When I hear my colleagues talking about how, you know, it should be states' rights, or government should not be telling us what to do, the word 'hypocrites,' it doesn't even go far enough to call them out on what they're doing," she claimed. "This is an outright attack on women in this country. That is how I see it."

    "That is how more and more women and those who support our right to make decisions about our own bodies, that is how we see it," she continued. "And why? Because that's what's happening."

    "Madam president, I yield the floor, but clearly, you know, this is a - literally call to arms in our country, I yield the floor," she concluded.

    Fox News reported Wednesday that there have been no arrests made in connection to the attacks on the pro-life centers even though the far-left group Jane's Revenge allegedly claimed responsibility for "at least 18 acts of vandalism and arson nationwide in the name of abortion rights."

    The Daily Wire reported back in June that the FBI had opened up criminal investigations into the attacks on pro-life centers.

    In response to inquiries regarding an alleged Jane's Revenge "communique," the FBI said that while it would not comment on specific groups, the bureau is "investigating a series of attacks and threats targeting pregnancy resource centers and faith-based organizations across the country."

    "The FBI takes all threats seriously and we continue to work closely with our law enforcement partners and will remain vigilant to protect our communities," the bureau told The Daily Wire. "We would like to remind members of the public that if they observe anything suspicious or have information about potential threats to report it to law enforcement immediately, call their local FBI field office, or submit a tip to tips.fbi.gov."
