ECON 101 Lessons For Beasley | Eastern North Carolina Now

Press Release:

    Good afternoon,

It looks like Cheri Beasley has read the polling that Americans believe inflation is one of the most urgent issues facing the country. As a result, Beasley is trying to flip the script and pretend that Democrats actually care about lowering costs when in reality, they're the ones who've caused it.

Since Beasley is confused about basic economics and the cause of inflation, we'd like to present her with some rudimentary ECON 101 lessons:

The definition of inflation is too many dollars chasing too few goods.

Biden pushed a $1.9 trillion "stimulus" package, but the U.S. economy saw hundreds of thousands fewer jobs created in 2021 than what Biden promised.

Bad energy policies create bad energy prices.

Biden's anti-American energy agenda cost the average family a total of $1,000 or more according to the Heartland Institute.

When you can't get goods, goods become more expensive.

Biden has failed to deliver on his promise to provide relief from supply chain bottlenecks - cargo ships are now simply waiting farther out at sea to get to port.

Higher taxes means less money in taxpayers' pockets.

Biden's Build Back Broke agenda would make soaring prices even worse by requiring tax hikes on many middle-class families, levying a home heating tax, and increasing child care costs by as much as $27,000 per year for many Americans.

"Cheri Beasley needs to brush up on her economics because the Democrat agenda of more spending and more taxes is only exacerbating the rise in inflation. Cheri Beasley can try to pretend she cares about lowering prices, but North Carolinians know that the cause of inflation is due to the Democrats' failed economic policies." - RNC Spokeswoman Alex Nolley

Under Democrat leadership, Americans have seen the highest inflation in 40 years, gas prices remain at a seven-year high and prices are "rising for everything, from the food on your shelves to the wood in your floors." Beasley may claim to want to address the Bidenflation crisis, but spending more money and enabling the Democrats in Congress won't fix the problem. The only way to curb the rise in inflation is through conservative policies that cut taxes, lower unemployment and slash bureaucratic red tape.
