Texas governor closes 6 border crossings with Mexico | Eastern North Carolina Now

in response to fed request for help with big migrant encampment

ENCNow

With 18,000 illegal alien migrants camped out under a bridge in Del Rio, Texas, federal officials asked Texas for help, probably expecting assistance in babysitting the illegals. But Texas Governor Abbott had a different type of help in mind.  He surged Texas public safety officers and National Guard personnel and vehicles and shut down six border crossings with Mexico to keep any more illegal alien migrants from getting in, declaring that he was acting "to stop these caravans from overrunning our state".

Six hours later, with the Biden regime declaring that was not the type of help they had in mind, the feds reopened the border to illegal alien migrants.  The governor kept the National Guard and state troopers and their vehicles in place as a show of force in the hopes of deterring migrants.
