Other European countries that have seen huge protests against virus lockdowns and other restrictions on personal freedom in recent days have included the UK, Ireland, Spain, and Italy.  In Italy, the protest even extended to the parliament, where representatives of the ultra-conservative Brothers of Italy, the second most popular party in the opinion polls, left their seats and lifted protest signs in opposition to  proposals for vaccine passports.  Mass protests have also occurred this past week in Australia, where there were also violent clashes with the police.
