Beaufort County Commissioners Pass Watered Down Resolution to Fully Re-open Schools | Eastern North Carolina Now
It was my vision, my words, North Carolina's problem, the general assembly's senate initiative, and our state's Democratic Governor's negligence in favor of political expediency, and Beaufort County's Commissioners just can't make a suitable stand to do what is right.
Now that Kamala Harris has been coronated the Democratic Socialist designee for nomination as their candidate for President of these United States, after that political party's contrived primary process "democratically" elected Joseph R. Biden: What are your feelings about this party's progressive posture within their self-styled exercise of "Saving Democracy for America," and how truly critical the outcome of this presidential election will be?
0% I am ecstatic that this "Democracy's" First partially Black, First partially Indian, First female Co-Parent, and that this nation's primary necessity is to elect our First woman president.
25% I really do not care about all these "Firsts." I will continue to pray, and work for this Representative Republic to elect someone competent, and brilliantly patriotic to be our next president.
75% I will never vote for any politician that "first" does not have the core values to understand how dire this Constitutional Republic's situation has become.
This issue of continued bad Democratic Socialist political behavior, to the detriment of our society and our children, appears to remain a lesser issue for a majority of Beaufort County's commissioners at the March 1, 2021 general meeting.
It was my vision, my words, North Carolina's great problem, the general assembly's senate initiative, and our state's Democratic Socialist Governor's negligence in favor of political expediency, while Beaufort County's Commissioners just could not make a suitable stand to do what is immutably right. Instead, Beaufort County's governing board opted for a watered down version of a partial truth, and in the end will probably fail to make any difference whatsoever.
Possibly, the same would be true regarding the unabridged version of my thoughtful resolution to seek a wiser version of a better outcome to open our North Carolina public schools, but we will never know since that version that I fully wrote for ratification; or that "version amended at the pleasure of the board" never passed, failing 2 to 5, with Commissioner Hood Richardson and myself, Commissioner Deatherage, voting in the losing affirmation of what was best.
Alternatively, the watered down version, which, in my considered opinion (since I wittingly wrote, and then unwittingly wrote the second version - edited by Commissioner Waters - see below.) should have far less effect with the intended recipients - those politicians that make policy that affects every North Carolina citizen.
The Frankie Waters edits were not the first time that the nominal Republican commissioner had taken broad liberties with a resolution that I had pondered in great detail; however, it is the first where the Commissioner had appeared to take credit for my words, partial as they may be, as you can see here: Below.

Resolution Demanding that North Carolina Fully Open All Public Schools, Ensuring Every Child Has Access to In-Person Education
Whereas, the United States of America and the Great State of North Carolina have now for an approximate year been in the vicious grip of Covid-19, which has inhabited OUR Public Education, and;
Whereas, since the beginning of the 2020/2021 school year, most, if not all private schools and public charter schools returned back to educating children, and now, understanding that there was always, and will always be an acceptable risk to living, are primarily providing in-person education, which has proved to be a safe and effective program in doing their jobs, and;
Whereas, The North Carolina General Assembly has now passed Senate Bill 37, with the NC House also approving that same NC Senate Bill; however, North Carolina’s Democratic Governor, Roy Cooper, has vetoed the Bill. Beaufort County’s Commissioners humbly request that a super bipartisan majority override the Governor’s veto of Senate Bill 37.
Whereas, Beaufort County’s school administration is more than ready and long patiently waiting to provide more in-person learning at the option of parents and Beaufort County taxpayers that they have honorably served during this Age of Covid, but are incapable of doing so without administrative guidance as authorized from North Carolina’s government, and;
Therefore, Let It Be Resolved, that Beaufort County’s Commissioners do hereby demand that North Carolina fully opens all public schools, ensuring every child has access to in-person education.
Adopted this the 1st day of March,
2021

I have highlighted the names mentioned above to better represent that the mention of the name - Stan Deatherage as the author - was never a consideration, which did necessitate Commissioner Hood Richardson to accuse Frankie Waters of Plagiarism in the segmented commissioners' general meeting below.
The segmented county commissioners' video representing the presentation of this resolution of support of Senate Bill 37 is shown: Below.
The aforementioned resolution is here below with the changes by removal (shown here as italics in bold) from the original version, at the behest of Commissioner Frankie Waters, who would not consider the original resolution written by Commissioner Stan Deatherage ... just the one where Commissioner Deatherage's written words were used, in part, to satisfy the political ambitions of Commissioner Waters as shown: Below.
Resolution Demanding that North Carolina Fully Open All Public Schools, Ensuring Every Child Has Access to
In-person Education
Whereas, the United States of America and the Great State of North Carolina have now for an approximate year been in the vicious grip of Covid 19, which has strangled our Small Businesses and inhibited OUR Public Education, and;
Whereas,Covid 19 can be a deadly disease, which was foisted upon our People by originating strains of the virus from Wuhan, China, a Communist regime, who then would not allow the immediate investigation of THEIR virus by other more responsible nations' scientists; however, after some months of intense scrutiny and effort by the previous Trump administration, much worthwhile data was discovered. Due to the determined resolve by the previous administration, through Operation Warp Speed, a vaccine was: Rightly discovered, approved by trials, and brought to the People in record speed; thus delivering one million vaccines a day into the arms of Americans, and;
Whereas,Covid 19, by responsive scientific scrutiny during the Trump Administration, was determined to be more virally dangerous to our older citizenry, especially those suffering from comorbidities, but to a far less extent children of school age, who were also determined to be less inclined to spread the disease by asymptomatic pathogens, and;
Whereas, Since the beginning of the 2020 /2021 school year, most, if not all private schools and public charter schools returned back to educating children, and now, understanding that there was always, and will always be an acceptable risk to living, are primarily providing in-person education, which has proved to be a safe and effective program in doing their jobs, and;
Whereas,in North Carolina, where there exists Leftist controlled governments, there are school districts where children, under their watchful care, have not, or are not experiencing any in-person public education, and;
Whereas,in the United States, where there exists Leftist controlled governments who have cozy political relationships with Leftist Teachers' Unions, who have expressed a will to not return to in-person education in the foreseeable future, regardless of "The Science", and;
Whereas,It is becoming a distinct trend that Democratic Socialist leaders tend to follow their Leftist base, and with that base of voters becoming far more Leftist, and unable to engage in deductive reasoning, which is an obvious condition of Leftists, Democratic Socialist elected leaders tend to not "Follow The Science", and;
Whereas, The North Carolina General Assembly has now passed Senate Bill 37, with the NC House also approving that same NC Senate bill; however, North Carolina's Democratic Socialist Governor, Roy Cooper, has not yet signed the bill (has vetoed the Bill), with conservation in Raleigh 'that Governor Cooper will be inclined to wait until there is further "Scientific" data', (Beaufort County’s Commissioners humbly request that a super bipartisan majority override the Governor’s veto of Senate Bill 37), and;
Whereas, Beaufort County's school administration is more than ready and long patiently waiting to provide more in-person learning at the option of the parents and Beaufort County taxpayers that they have honorably served during this Age of Covid, but are incapable of doing so without administrative guidance as authorized from North Carolina's government, and;
Whereas,Our children have long been pronounced as our "Greatest Resource", and should that be eternally true: Why would any caring society allow those children, whose young minds are yet to be molded into thoughtful instruments to navigate, eagerly and well, that same society, to devolve into a directionless generation, where depression, drug addiction and even suicide becomes a considered option(?),therefore,
Let it be resolved, that Beaufort County's Commissioners do hereby demand that North Carolina fully opens all public schools, ensuring every child has access to in-person education, and, furthermore, should the governor unwisely veto Senate Bill 37, then Beaufort County's Commissioners humbly request that a super bipartisan majority override any prospective and unwelcome veto.
Written by Beaufort County Commissioner Stan Deatherage for passage on March 1, 2021, and intended to be sent to all NC legislative representatives and executive branch leaders, who influence all Covid 19 decisions for the People of North Carolina.
Since this well considered Resolution Demanding that North Carolina Fully Open All Public Schools, Ensuring Every Child Has Access to In-person Education was rendered of most of its contextual support to drive this political point home, by Commissioner Frankie Waters, he deserves some of the credit for the Democratic Politicians becoming emboldened to follow the dictates of the decision of their Central Committee, and not follow through in overriding this Democratic Socialist Governor's unwise decision to keep the public schools mostly closed.
It also bears mentioning that including the removal of my name from my words written to create this resolution, in part, Commissioner Waters also removed any reference to: China; President Trump; the Trump Administration's "Operation Warp Speed"; "science" as a political wedge issue; the enumerated devastating effects upon our society's children; including perfect descriptors such as Leftist(s), Teachers' Unions, Democratic Socialist(s), among others.
Real Republicans should intuitively know that if they wish to best represent their constituents in the political fight that is well underway against the Democratic Socialists, many of which are unrepentant non patriots, they must be willing to not shrink from treating their adversaries in a real and truthful manner. That is the real political landscape that is now afoot, and to pretend otherwise is a monumental misjudgment by any politician, including Frankie Waters.
