All those political connections with Lawson-Williams | Eastern North Carolina Now

Ever wonder what happens when leopards change their spots? The answer is "NOTHING" because leopards do not change their spots.

Ever wonder what happens when leopards change their spots? The answer is "NOTHING" because leopards do not change their spots. Is past behavior a good indication of future behavior? The answer is: "YES". Is past success indicative of future success? The answer is "MOST OF THE TIME BUT NOT ALWAYS".

Contrast the liberal, vote swapping, party jumping, political hack Arthur Williams with the 35 year Republican, Tea Party conservative, Christian, honorable, grandmother Mattie Lawson. Now look at the first paragraph and determine who you want to vote for in the July 17th run off election between these two.

The Williams camp is using the old Democrat reasoning of "We need someone to represent Beaufort County in Raleigh" and the equally questionable "She will make us look bad in Raleigh.

Let us take a look at the first statement. How many votes do you think Williams will loose in Hyde, Washington and Dare Counties when they realize they are not even "chopped liver" in the political process? Williams is implying that some how Beaufort County will get favors the other counties in District 6 will not get. I guess he is going to each of the other counties and making the same bogus promise. Why would those of you in Hyde, Washington and Dare Counties want to elect Williams who tells you going in you are second class. Course you could expect a former, if not still, Democrat to do business just like he was taught by his former buddies, Marc Basnight and Jim Black.

Take a look at "She will make us look bad in Raleigh". Williams, along with Ashley Woolard, Bill Tarpenning and company have not been able to describe how Lawson will make us look bad. Just compare any thing you can imagine this Christian grandmother could do that would look worse than Arthur Williams consorting with the likes of liberal Republican Howard Brubaker King Pin Marc Basnight and convicted felon Jim Black.

Rumor has it that Brubaker is a close associate of Richard Morgan who is running for insurance commissioner. Vote for Mike Causey in that run off. He understands insurance in eastern North Carolina.. Mattie Lawson is a principled Republican and therefore will not be swapping votes to get favors for her campaign contributors. Mattie has not been endorsed by the Republican Party power brokers like Williams, so she can be independent in her voting. That in its self will be refreshing.

Take a look at Williams contributors. These are the same Democrats, and RINO's who gave him money when he was/is a Democrat. I do not see any change.

Speaking of leopards changing their spots. Williams will require not only the removal of spots but his hide in order vote with the conservatives. He says he is a conservative and has always been a conservative. His voting record says different. The conservative Civitas Institute rated Williams an "F" on conservatism. A look at his voting record during his last term in 2010 and 20ll showed a liberal "go along get along record." He was almost always with the super majority votes. He voted with Bev. Perdue on the largest tax increase in history. Occasionally he would have a "no" vote on an issue that required several readings but he always came around to support the liberals. We all know a dedicated conservative can register enough opposition votes to let the public know he is not a push over. Williams was a push over. Williams cannot make the conservative grade on changing spots and there is no such thing as and entire hide transplant. This leopard cannot change his spots.

Williams is a hand picked liberal Democrat who will rob us of our Republican birth right if elected. If you are a Republican or an Unaffiliated voter turn out on July 17 and vote for Mattie Lawson. Early voting begins June 28.

This runoff election is important to Eastern North Carolina. With Marc Basnight gone, the new Republican king makers in Raleigh have hand picked Arthur Williams to be their new yes man. The Republican Party in Eastern North Carolina has always been a step child. This run-off election is as good of a chance as we will get to assert conservative Republican principles and show Raleigh that we do not want lock step politics as practiced by the Democrat party. We can only become strong if we are willing to accept debate on issues rather that dictates from the leadership.
