Rioters stormed the headquarters of Minneapolis' 3rd Police Precinct late on Thursday night in response to the death of George Floyd, and have reportedly started setting fires at the building.

"Livestream video showed the protesters entering the building, where fire alarms blared and sprinklers ran as blazes were set," The Associated Press reported. "Police appeared to have left the building located in the neighborhood not far from where Floyd died Monday."

In a clip highlighted by NewsBusters Managing Editor Curtis Houck, CNN showed what they said was the police precinct on fire.

Nick Woltman, a reporter for the Pioneer Press, tweeted a video of the incident from the ground, writing: "The protesters appear to have overrun the third precinct in Minneapolis. After the fence went down, officers loaded into squads and seemed to abandon the building. Protesters are now warning each other that the National Guard is on its way."

Fox 9 Executive Producer Seth Kaplan posted a video on Twitter and wrote: "This is the 3rd Precinct of the MPD. The fire at the corner is growing."

Kaplan later added: "The fire at the MPD's 3rd Precinct was only at one corner 5 minutes ago. It's now spread across the entire building. With no firefighters on scene... that building will likely be destroyed tonight."

NBC News reporter Morgan Chesky posted a video of people shooting off fireworks after rioters stormed the police facility.

"Fireworks over @MinneapolisPD 3rd Precinct after crowds swarm inside. No sign of police response to deter them yet," Chesky wrote.

Town Hall reporter Julio Rosas wrote on Twitter: "Can't believe what I'm seeing the Minneapolis police has ABANDONED the 3rd precinct's building!! Rioters have stormed in the parking lot and are now damaging the building."

Rosas later added: "This is the moment when Minneapolis police officers abandoned the 3rd precinct building. Rioters chased them as they left and continued to throw objects at the police vehicles."
