    Carol Ann Glisson, age 55, of Chocowinity, passed away on January 13, 2020 due to an auto accident.

    She was born on August 26, 1964 to Walter and Bebie Glisson in New Bern. She attended Gorham Swamp Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Chocowinity. Carol worked as a Respiratory Technical Assistant for Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for nearly twenty-four years. Carol loved to work in her yard and flower garden. At work Carol was a dedicated team member with a funny sense of humor and she was a compassionate loyal friend and loved by all that knew her. She will greatly by all her friends and family.

    She was preceded in death by mother, Bebie Holton Glisson, father, Walter David Glisson, brothers, David Earl Glisson and Walter Monroe Glisson.

    Carol was raised by her 1st cousin, Tessie Avery Elks and her husband the late Alvin Leroy Elks of Washington. Carol always considered Tessie and Leroy her parents. Also surviving are1st cousins, Linda Avery Rowe and her husband Jacob of Washington, Pauline Avery Stilley and her husband Wade of Chocowinity, Judy Avery Mobley and her husband Jimmy of Chocowinity and Richard Avery and his wife Betty of Pine Mountain, GA. Surviving are also numerous other cousins.

    Visitation will be held Friday, January 17, 2020 from 12:30-1:45 pm at Washington Funeral & Cremation with services following at 2 pm in the Chapel of Washington Funeral and Cremation with the Rev. Jerry Smith officiating.

    The burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington.
