Inclement Weather This Weekend | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Our office is currently monitoring the development of a coastal low that will impact our area as follows throughout the weekend.

  • Rain is expected to move into our area after midnight tonight, and continue through sunrise Sunday. Locations west of Bath and Blounts Creek are forecasted to receive between 1 1/2 and 2 inches of rain. Areas east should expect 2 to 3 inches during this time, with the heaviest rainfall occurring throughout the day Friday.
  • NNE winds will increase throughout the day Friday, becoming sustained at 15 - 20 mph by sunrise Saturday. Winds are expected to peak between 2p and 10p Saturday at 20 - 25mph. The wind direction will transition to the N on Sunday and remain sustained between 15 and 20 mph. NNW winds are expected to be less than 10 mph by sunrise Monday, and continue to subside throughout the day. Gust of 30 - 35 mph are possible anytime between Friday and Sunday. Areas along the Pamlico River and Pungo River shore lines will be especially susceptible to these higher wind ranges.
