Dr. Greg Murphy Votes No on Spending Package

Press Release:

WASHINGON, D.C.     Today, Dr. Greg Murphy (NC-3) voted "no" on a temporary, seven-week spending package that would fund the government through Nov. 21.

Murphy, who is in his first week representing the Third District, said, " One of the greatest threats to our nation's security at this moment is our spiraling out of control debt. We simply must get spending under control. Unfortunately, the Continuing Resolution continues this pattern. Until we take serious measures to decrease this nation's financial risk, I cannot support it."

The spending bill, known as a Continuing Resolution, would keep the government funded at current levels for the next two months, but would take no steps to make much-needed spending cuts during that time.
