Dr. Greg Murphy to Be Sworn in Tuesday Evening as North Carolina 3rd District Congressman

Press Release:

Washington, D.C.     Dr. Greg Murphy will officially take the office of North Carolina 3rd District Congressman on Tuesday evening. Murphy will take the Oath of Office in the U.S. Capitol, House Chamber, on 6:30 Tuesday evening. Murphy will immediately assume the duties of Congressman and conduct the people's business in the Offices of North Carolina's 3rd Congressional District, 2333 Rayburn House Office Building.

Murphy will assume office exactly one week after winning a Special Election, defeating three other challengers on the ballot, winning 16 of the 17 counties in the District that stretches from the Virginia border South to Onslow County. Murphy garnered 24% percent of the vote in the election made necessary by the passing earlier in the year of Congressman Walter B. Jones Jr.

Announcements will be forthcoming as to staffing of the Congressional Office in Washington and the District Office in North Carolina.
