These latest five announcements from the Chocowinity Primary School, via the Beaufort County School System, reminds us that schools are a focal point of activity.

Chocowinity Primary School Leprechauns

Chocowinity Primary School students (from left) Leanna Hudson, Crystal Gibbs, Torrye Rogers and Emmanuel Rogers are leprechauns for a day as they show off the various Saint Patrick's Day hats they made in celebration of the "green" holiday.

Chocowinity Primary School Literary Performance

Chocowinity Primary School students (from left) Kaleel Harper, Tatiana Corprew, David White, Ethan Jones and SoLiyah Green present their version of the children's classic "Little Red Hen" during a special performance for CPS's prekindergarten students.

Only Way to Fly

Local hang glider enthusiast Casey Cox gives students an up close look at one of his gliders during a recent visit to Chocowinity Primary School. Cox, who has been hang gliding for approximately 20 years, helped the students understand the concept of flight as experienced by the Wright brothers, the nation's first hang gliders. Cox's wife, Paula Taylor Cox, is a teacher at CPS.

Unique Gift

Miasia McCall, a third grade student at Chocowinity Primary School and a member of the CPS choir, admires a unique jigsaw puzzle, one of which was presented to each member of the choir. The puzzles, which feature a photograph of the school, were handcrafted by Bob Jenks of Chocowinity. Jenks made the puzzles as a "thank you" to the students for their recent performance in the Cypress Landing community.

Well Read Students

Chocowinity Primary School fourth graders (from left) Chris Lichty, Tynahj Smith and Sarah Richardson display a few of their favorite titles available during the CPS spring book fair, held March 12-16. Students of all ages enjoyed visiting the fair and taking home new books.
