The North Carolina Republican Party is excited to have Jake Johnson joining the NCGA as the new Representative for House District 113. After being appointed by the executive committees of Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania counties, Rep. Johnson is now the youngest member of the NCGA at age 25.
"Jake Johnson will be a tireless advocate for conservative principles and we are excited to have him in the General Assembly,"
said NCGOP Chairman Michael Whatley. "Representative Johnson represents the next generation of Republicans who are willing to serve and we look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have for his constituents in western North Carolina."
Rep. Johnson was born and raised in Saluda, NC, and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Political Science and a Minor in Economics. At only 22 years of age, he became one of the youngest elected officials in NC history when he became a Polk County commissioner. Outside of his public service, Jake works for Berkshire Hathaway in Hendersonville and is a member of Silver Creek Baptist Church in Mill Springs.
