    Walter Cornelius Williams, 74, a resident of 606 N Market Street, Washington, died, Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Vidant inpatient Hospice in Greenville.

    A chapel service will be conducted at Washington Funeral and Cremation - Hillside Chapel at 12 pm on Saturday, April 20, 2019. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Friday at the funeral home.

    Mr. Williams was born on December 11, 1944 to the late Simon and Jesse Bell Williams in Beaufort County, NC. He attended Beaufort County Schools and he retired from the City of Washington after 25 years of service.

    Walter married the former Eunice Horton on August 2, 1971 in Washington, NC. To this union was two children, Wanda Williams and Walter Williams, Jr. He is survived by his wife Eunice Williams of the home, one daughter, Wanda Williams of Washington, NC , one son, Walter Williams, Jr of Greenville, NC, eight grandchildren, Sawanna, Aprintes, Princess, Aaliyah, Chris, Chris, Kiara, and Trey, four great-grandchildren, Nehemiah, Narriah, Aston, and Ezra, two sisters, Addie Taylor of Philadelphia, Barbara S. Srayhorn of Pollocksville, NC, one brother, Ray Hopkins of Stokes, NC. Two sister in-laws, Mary Williams and Maggie Hopkins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Hopkins and Simon Williams, Sr.
