Beaufort County Notice and Postscript: Republicans are Charged to Meet to Embolden their Party to be Conservative | Eastern North Carolina Now

For some gathering time now the Beaufort County GOP has had a heck of a time getting out of its own way, and often acts as a social club rather than a principled party apparatus charged to guide elected victory toward its candidates of a Conservative pedigree.

Beaufort County GOP Needs am Infusion of Conservative Blood
Postscript revealing a salient observation at the bottom of the post - February 20, 2019

For some gathering of time now, the Beaufort County GOP has had a heck of a time getting out of its own way, and often acts as a social club rather than a principled party apparatus charged to guide elected victory toward its political candidates of a Conservative pedigree. In fact, some of the upper echelon Republican party officers shun, and speak disparagingly of the elected Conservatives that act and represent their constituents by the dictates of their practiced political principles.

On the other hand, these same upper echelon Republican party officers would rather defend and lend great support to elected so-called Republican politicians who do not adhere to the platform of Ronald Reagan conservatism, which is the official Beaufort County party platform, and thus strike out on their own to be openly "Progressive" by block voting with Liberals on far too many numerous occasions. This struggle of ideals, willfully displayed, shall only change if real Conservatives strike a majority in the Beaufort County GOP, rather than continuing to coddle the "progressive" Liberals that now hold so much power in the local party.

From Conservative Beaufort County Commissioner Hood Richardson

Coming up: Beaufort County Republican precinct meetings on Tuesday, February 19th at 6:00 pm at the Beaufort County court house in the Superior Court Room.

Then on Tuesday, March 19th at 6:30 pm is the Beaufort County Republican Convention, beginning at 6:30 pm at the Beaufort County court house.

Every registered Republican in Beaufort County is invited to both of these events. The precinct meetings are where Republican grass roots politics begins.

Postscript: The Following Day, - February 20, 2018

I attended the countywide Biennial Precinct Meetings held at the Beaufort County court house leading up to the Biennial Beaufort County GOP Convention, and I was astonished at the number of people that were there; remarkably, I possibly knew 20% of the those people participating. I had not seen that many people at a precinct gathering since 2003, when the growing RINO faction /"economic development" (an abject misnomer since economic development in Beaufort County is nonexistent) special interest group sought to drive Hood Richardson and myself out of the Beaufort County Republican party. Obviously, that did not happen.

Furthermore, Hood Richardson was up for re-election to the commission in 2004, and I was selected by County Commissioner Carol Cochran to occupy her seat on the board (I had stepped down in 2002, and Carol was leaving for New Mexico in 2003) over the strenuous objections of that RINO faction of that board, and then I stood for a Special Election in 2004 for that seat. Ironically, Conservative County Commissioner Hood Richardson, and former Conservative County Commissioner Stan Deatherage won each of their respective elections by large vote totals.

Witnessing about 5 times more people at the gathering precinct meeting on Tuesday night: I have to wonder what is in the offing for the elected Conservatives here in Beaufort County?
