NC House Candidate Mattie Lawson to visit Pinetown | Eastern North Carolina Now

   This Saturday, March 17th, is the popular annual barbeque event for Pinetown, NC, in Beaufort County at the local Volunteer Fire Department. Hoping for fine weather and a good turnout, Mattie Lawson, candidate for NC House District 6, will be on hand to meet and greet potential Republican, Democrat and unaffiliated voters. Running on a platform of strong traditional conservative values, Ms. Lawson has been a reliable Republican voter for over 35 years. She is an active Christian. At her home church in Colington, NC, she is a founding member of the Safety and Security Team and coordinates the weekly greeter ministry. Her children and grandchildren also worship at Liberty Christian Fellowship Church.

   Ms. Lawson bought a home in Kill Devil Hills, NC, in 2002. She has been a key member of the Dare County Republican Party for 5 years. She has been the Party Secretary and the Publicity Chair and At-Large Executive of the North Carolina 3rd Congressional District Party and a member of the North Carolina Republican Executive Committee for 3 years.

   She co-sponsored the first TEA Party in Dare County in April 2009. Consistently active in the TEA Party movement, she will be at the big Freedom Rally March 20th in Buxton, NC, to protest the closing of the beaches and the punitive fines invoked by the Federal Park Service. Ms. Lawson believes in individual and group activism as a necessary component to keeping the freedoms Americans have taken for granted for so many years.

   Ms. Lawson is a certified Six Sigma Expert (Black Belt) and retired from Raytheon Corporation in Northern Virginia where she was the Process Engineering Department Head at the National Geo-Spatial Intelligence Agency. Currently, she runs a small consulting business in Dare County specializing in improving business processes by reducing waste and errors.
