Axe Me What I Did Last Night. Stumpy's Hatchet House to Open in Uptown Greenville | Eastern North Carolina Now

Press Release:

Dickinson Avenue will welcome a nationally acclaimed axe throwing social house to the Uptown district. FORD+SHEP owners Brandon and Taylor Qualls have embarked on their next venture with the upcoming opening of Stumpy's Hatchet House.

Taylor's aunt and uncle, Trish and Mark Oliphant, along with friends Stuart and Kelly Josberger, are owners of the franchise. One night while the girls were preparing dinner, and the boys were out back chopping wood for the fire, led to the creation of an impromptu game of throwing the axe to a makeshift bullseye on some log rounds from a tree that came down during Superstorm Sandy.

Recognizing the games' potential, the Josbergers and the Oliphant's brought the game to life by taking it indoors and incorporating a target. You could call it a happy axe-ident.

Guests can recreate the fun and bonding over food, drinks, and hatchet throwing competition in their safe, controlled throwing pit. Customers can take turns hurling their hatchet at the target while working to fine-tune their form and technique. Be sure to proceed with caution, it's addicting!

When not throwing, friends are invited to gather in the common area at large farm tables and comfy couches. While you are welcome to order food in, snacks, beverages and ice are on site for purchase!

Stumpy's Hatchet House goes beyond just hatchet throwing. The location features a "Wood Shed" party room that provides a space to host large groups for various events. Catering packages and friendly staff are available to make each event a success!

This BYOB franchise has locations across the US; first in Eatontown, NJ and now in Austin, San Antonio, Tampa, and next Greenville, NC.

"We are enthusiastic to bring a new entertainment option to the area. "Axe anyone you know, with the addition of FORD + SHEP and now Stumpy's Hatchet House, the Uptown District will be the most exciting place in the community," said the Qualls.
