"Where Have all the Whiners Gone?" | Eastern North Carolina Now

   "Long time passing" ... or so they say.

   When I was a kid, I loved this 1961 Pete Seger anti-war song made popular by Peter, Paul and Mary. Who doesn't hate war, and who doesn't love the folks that sang "Puff the Magic Dragon." I also love clean air and fresh water. I compost and have recycled long before recycling was cool, or green, or whatever ...

   I also believe America should absolutely never fight in any war unless we absolutely have to, such as the "Great War," when we stood up to Nazi / Italian Fascism / Japanese Imperialism - and saved the free world; or the Cold War, and all ancillary conflicts to stop Communist Totalitarianism - and saved the free world ... again; or the War on Terror to dismantle Islamic Fascism, and the terrorist that it sponsors. Does anyone still remember 9/11?

   Yes, I hate war. And we, the United States of America, should never engage in any other war unless we do it to save lives ... American lives and for freedom. Freedom: So that great songwriters, like Pete Seeger, can write great inspirational songs, like "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?" Wow, what an inspiration that song was for me? Not so much for John "Bluto" Blutarsky (remember the "Animal House" guitar smash).

   Does this Pete Seeger anti-war hymn resonate with the "99%" that occupied Wall Street? I'm not clear on that, and I actually don't really care. What I do care about is: "Where have all the Whiners Gone?"

   I don't know.    Do You?
It can't be easy to be so young (25, 30 years old), living in mama's basement, and trying to make a name for yourself. Sometimes, you have to get arrested to make yourself known: Above.
   What I do know is that their celebrity enablers: Michael Moore, Alec Baldwin, Russell Simmons, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Dylan Radigan, Miley Cyrus, the entire MSNBC prime time editorial staff, and many others, too numerous to list here, cannot presently be reached for the location as to where the Occupiers / "99%" / whiners are. It does appear that their enablers, in question, are sequestered in pre-conference at the Liars and Hypocrites Symposium, currently held in San Francisco, and are presently unavailable for comment.

   President Obama, who was the keynote speaker at the conference's opening general session, has postponed his address for one day to allow for the 36 holes of golf that was originally scheduled prior to his conference commitments. South Carolina U.S. Representative Joe Wilson is scheduled to make opening remarks in his introduction of the president.
