    Spring 2017 - Glass Tulip Film Festival

    Submissions to AOP's spring NC film festival, Glass Tulip Film Festival, for NC students and amateurs (non-student, non-professional film makers) are now open. Submissions from NC film makers for the April 14 & 15 2017 festival at the Historic Turnage Theatre in downtown Washington, NC are accepted through Film Freeway only. Entry fees are $25 for NC non-students and $10 NC college or high school students. Cash prizes and awards. Submission accepted December 15, 2016 - February 15, 2017.     Fall 2017 - Marquee on Main -

    Submissions to AOP's fall film festival, Marquee on Main Film Festival for NC students and amateurs (non-student, non-professional film makers) is now open to students and independent professional film makers with no geographic limitations. Submissions for the September 15 - 17, 2017 festival at the Historic Turnage Theatre in downtown Washington, NC are accepted through Film Freeway only. Entry fees are $35 per entry.     AOP's Community Theatre Troupe auditions for the 2017 season will be held from 6 - 8 PM at the Turnage Theatre on the following dates:

  • February Show: Love on Broadway Musical - auditions closed
  • May 2017 Show: I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change - auditions March 1 & 2, 2017
  • August 2017 Show: A Streetcar Named Desire - auditions May 31 & June 1
  • November Show: The Tempest in Space auditions Sept 6 & 7
  • Show Boat auditions for summer 2017 show to be announced

    Mixed Media Art -

    All forms of art (drawing, digital/mixed photography, sculpture, installation, digital, collage, fiber art, etc.)accepted by local, regional and NC artists. Fees are $20 for up to two entries for members, $25 for non-members. Two entries maximum per artist. Commission is set at 30% per sale. Submission accepted January 18 - 24, 2017. Opening reception February 2, 2017 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM.

    Valentines from Kids -

    Valentine cards in all shaped and sizes welcome from Beaufort County children and youth (no age limit) to display throughout the Turnage Theatre during the month of February. No fees. Submissions with school name and child's first name and age accepted at the Turnage Theatre or by mail starting on January 15, 2017. No fees. On display February 2017.

    Students of the Pamlico Art Exhibit -

    Annual art exhibit for art provided by children living in or going to school in Beaufort, Hyde and Washington counties. Art accepted at the Turnage Theatre from February 23 - 28. No fees.

    Little Art Exhibit -

    AOP's annual fundraiser to support programming. Canvas may be picked up at the Arts of the Pamlico in March 30 - April 4. Little Art works will be on display April 26 & 27 when all may purchase raffle tickets up to 3 PM on April 27 in advance of April 27 reception at 6:30 PM. Pick up your raffle art work winnings on May 2 during operating hours.

    AOP Member Exhibit -

    Annual exhibit of the works of AOP members. Submissions accepted May 25 - 30.

    Opening reception June 1 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. Details TBA.

    Photography Exhibit -

    All forms of photography ready to hang from local, regional and NC artists. Fees are $20 for up to two entries for members, $25 for non-members. Two entries maximum per artist. Commission is set at 30% per sale. Submissions accepted at the Turnage Theater from July 12 - 18 , 2017. Opening reception July 28 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM.
