McCrory Campaign Raises $3.2 Million, Has $6.3 Million On Hand | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Raleigh, N.C.     The Pat McCrory Committee raised $3.2 million during the second quarter of 2016 and will report $6.3 million cash on hand through the end of June.

    95% of donations to The Pat McCrory Committee during the second quarter were received from North Carolina donors in all 100 counties. 60% of donors during the second quarter were new donors to The Pat McCrory Committee and 85% of donations came in contributions of $200 or less.

    "No amount of money from out-of-state liberal activists will be able to change Roy Cooper's record of tax increases on middle-class families in North Carolina," said Russell Peck, Governor McCrory's campaign manager. "While Roy Cooper's SuperPAC and deep-pocketed allies have been attacking Governor McCrory's record for months, our campaign's growing network of supporters will ensure we have the resources to win in November."

    At a meeting of the Council of State this morning, Roy Cooper admitted to calling Democratic legislators to block a bipartisan compromise effort to make changes to North Carolina's privacy law. Despite his efforts to hurt North Carolina's economy and block any changes, North Carolina jumped from #9 to #5 in CNBC's annual rankings of the best states for business released today.

    A recent report showed 75% of all outside spending in the governor's race has come from left-leaning groups supporting Roy Cooper and attacking Governor McCrory. Despite the attacks, political expert John Davis says Pat McCrory is favored for re-election.

    A recent Civitas poll showed Pat McCrory beating Roy Cooper by 5 points.
