Essie C. Glover | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Mrs. Essie Peaden Cherry Glover, age 85, a resident of Washington died Saturday June 25, 2016 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday June 29, 2016 at the Glover Family Cemetery officiated by Rev. Ola Forbes.

    The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday June 28, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of her niece: Betty Godard located at 2085 Price Rd., Williamston.

    Mrs. Glover was born in Pitt County on May 8, 1931 daughter of the late William Emmett Peaden and the late Vera Christine Williams Peaden. On August 22, 1952 she married Claude Bryant Cherry who preceded her in death on July 22, 1975. On July 26, 1977 she married David Bertram Glover who preceded her in death on August 7, 2003. Mrs. Glover was a retired machine operator at National Spinning. She touched so many lives and was called Aunt Essie by many, even some who were not related to her.

    Survivors include two brothers: Louis T. Peaden and Woodrow Wilson Peaden both of Falkland, NC; a sister: Ada P. Whitley of Chesapeake, VA and numerous nieces and nephews who were also her caregivers.
