‘Going Red’ author Ed Morrissey explains why Wake, six other U.S. counties could determine 2016 election

In a nation of 300 million people, the roughly 2 million people in seven key counties within battleground states could determine the outcome of this November's presidential election. One of those key locations is North Carolina's Wake County.

That's the assessment of Ed Morrissey, author of the new book Going Red. Morrissey shared details from his book during a presentation Monday for the John Locke Foundation's Shaftesbury Society. In the video clip above, Morrissey discusses the need for conservatives and Republicans to change the way they campaign for votes in places like Wake that have seen dramatic demographic shifts in recent years.
