In Concert: Bearfoot     1st position

Bearfoot is a group of five young folks, ranging in ages of 22 to 26 years of age, who have grown preciously wise in their approach to an American genre of music that is becoming some of the best music made today. Their music is born from the traditional tunes of Americana and the hybrid of the ancient ... read more.

In Concert: Riders in the Sky - In the Holiday Spirit the Cowboy Way ...     2nd position

The worn wooden stage at the head of the Turnage Theater was aglitter and aglow with the bright, but tacky Christmas lights adorning some of the many stage props of the night’s entertainment, Riders in the Sky.    Read more.

"Every Picture Tells a Story ... Don't It:" Part IX, Music in the Streets     3rd position

Downtown Washington, North Carolina has devoloped a new found reputation as a Friday evening destination for music lovers and antique car enthusiasts as well. Turnage Theater     4th position

When I was a young boy growing up in Washington, North Carolina, the streets were often paved, but many were dusty dirt and rock lanes, and some were burnt red paver bricked side streets off the main streets, running northwest to southeast, parallel with ... read more.

Music in the Streets: One Man's Observation     5th position

I step out into the quaint, picturesque neighborhood of West Second Street in front of my downtown apartment. The early evening sun beams down through a vanishing mass of nimbus clouds, illuminating the facade of houses and freshly blossomed dogwoods that line the street.     Read more.

Turnage Theater full of warm spirit, lacking warm bodies     8th position

On the other side of the coin, the 150 people in attendance made good use of the extra space, as Lipbone Redding and the Lipbone Orchestra and the Holy Ghost Tent Revival took turns bringing down the house. Another Musical Weekend in Washington, North Carolina     9nth position

High Fiasco for Some, Bop to you Drop for Others ...     10nth position

And still I found the Holy Ghost Tent Revival, hailing from Greensboro, North Carolina, an enigma.
