After the Navy he flew experimental aircraft and test missions for Goodyear and the FAA. He was a graduate of George Washington University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree.

Phil was head of flight operations for Johnson & Johnson until his retirement. His flying career with J&J was marked with thousands of flights to all parts of the United States and most of Europe, the Middle East, and South America.

Among others that utilized his services were Ronald Reagan when he was Governor of California, former Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, and several stars of the entertainment world including Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, and Redd Skeleton.

After Phil's retirement he and Judie enjoyed a new life, a small boat, the peace and quiet of their home in Sergeantsville, NJ and later moving to Washington, NC and sailing the waters of the East Coast. In accordance to his wishes there be no local services at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Fairfax, Virginia.
