NC Steps Up Hiring for Critical Positions

News Release:

Raleigh, N.C.     North Carolina State Government is stepping up efforts to hire the best and the brightest to serve the people of North Carolina.

The State has started making contingent offers for specific jobs at some career fairs.

"We have shortages in many positions, such as nurses and correctional officers," said Neal Alexander, Director of the Office of State Human Resources (OSHR). "By conducting interviews onsite and making conditional offers, we're expediting the hiring process to fill much-needed vacancies."

During a hiring event at Central Prison Healthcare Complex on March 3rd, the Department of Public Safety made 25 conditional offers for employment. All 25 offers are currently being processed for full time employment.

The State is also expanding its recruitment outreach, by holding several career fairs outside of North Carolina. Two career fairs are scheduled in South Carolina in April.
