Press Release:

Raleigh, N.C.     It will be North Carolina peanuts, BBQ sauce and Cheerwine on the line against Washington wine, popcorn and a selection of beer in a friendly wager between Governor Pat McCrory and Washington Governor Jay Inslee over this Sunday's NFL Playoff game between the Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks. The game will be played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

Governor McCrory is wagering a basket of North Carolina products, including peanuts, BBQ sauce, a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts and a case of Cheerwine on the game. The governor has also utilized social media to solicit ideas for other items to include.

Governor Inslee is putting up a variety of Washington products, including wine from two award-winning Washington wine regions, the Columbia Valley and Red Mountain, a selection of Uncle Woody's hand crafted caramel corn and seven (a touchdown and extra point) Washington IPAs from breweries across the state.

"I am looking forward to receiving the wine, beer and caramel corn from Governor Inslee after the Panthers' win," said Governor McCrory. "Coach Rivera has his team ready for the playoffs, and I am confident they will be victorious on Sunday."

The Panthers and Seahawks met one other time this season. In that game, the Panthers won 27-23 in Seattle. This time, the Panthers will have home field advantage in Charlotte.

"It's going to be an exciting game this weekend," said Governor Inslee. "With Marshawn Lynch back for the game, I'm confident I'll be celebrating with North Carolina peanuts, BBQ sauce and donuts next week. Governor McCrory put together a delicious basket I can't wait to enjoy."

The Carolina Panthers finished 15-1 in their regular season and are the Champions of the NFC South. The Seahawks were 10-6 in their regular season, and beat the Minnesota Vikings last week to advance to Sunday's game in Charlotte.
