Each year-end brings the usual look back on those that have passed during the year. Here is one on my incomplete list of entertainment Icons that have passed in last twelve months.

Well, I just heard the news that Joe Cocker has died. I was just back from Vietnam when Woodstock took place in August of 1969. They released the movie and album in 1970. I was trying to decompress and adjust back to civilian life. I did not much give a hoot in hell if the sun came up but with the help of a few friends and a seventeen-year-old flower child, I was finally able to get back in gear. Quite by accident, a mutual friend re-connected this now 63-year-old flower child and I on Facebook. After apologizing for my wild ways back then, I thanked her in a private FB message. She asked what for, and I could only reply "Just for being a bright innocent light in an hour of darkness".

While I never a participated in the drug scene, I could relate to Joe's rendition of this Beatles song. It brings back both good and bad memories. Rest in Peace Joe.
