Ethics Daily is a solid analysis periodical over morality. Here is their new one.

The author speaks as a Republican and a Christian:

I found especially instructive his interview with Gloria Furman about what she learned about blind spots as she has lived and ministered in Dubai.

We're inevitably shaped by the culture in which we live. The incarnation also means that we can live a life fully pleasing to God in specific places and times.

But we're also constantly at risk of developing tunnel vision because of our culture, unwittingly letting bad theology and corrupt priorities degrade the biblical fidelity of our faith.

For evangelicals in the United States, among the greatest risks are the influence of the prosperity gospel (God primarily cares about making you comfortable and prosperous) and the gospel of American patriotism (my Christian faith is inextricable from my identity as a patriot, and probably as a Republican).

You can read the article without my comment --- beyond my assessment that worshiping the Flag and Country are far different than worshiping our living God revealed to us through Jesus, The Christ, and the Son of the Living God . . .

Israel considered themselves the Chosen People. Their history is one of being close to God and then as far away as you can go. All cultures have godly times and infidel times.

I leave it to you, the reader to make your analysis of our 2015 times going to another election in 2016 --- and already the candidates are wooing the voters . . .

Wayne Dryer is one of my favorite life observers. I catch him on PBS at times.

Lifting aura can be fun. Your Erroneous Zones, 1977 by Wayne Dyer, shows how to make mistakes. The best way is to assume everyone has the same beliefs and experience.
GS, in the last sentence, leaves it to me to analyse. I say never mix politics and religion. Each is equally confusing as stand alone subjects.

Well, this is an outstanding series. We are all the better for it for it does lift aura of BCN measurably.

No problem. GS and I cooperated on Deacon Notes and exchanged numerous photos.
This is Johnson Chapel 1890 in Hartselle Alabama. Many relatives are in the area.
Some relatives preached there.

So that is where that image came from.

I reckon that is why I intuitively felt safe posting it.
