    Raleigh, N.C.     The Office of Governor Pat McCrory announced the following appointments:

Blue Ribbon Commission to Study the Building and Infrastructure Needs of the State

  • The Honorable Janet Cowell (Wake County) — Cowell is the North Carolina State Treasurer.
  • The Honorable Bill Daughtridge (Nash County) — Daughtridge is the Secretary for the North Carolina Department of Administration.
  • Lee Roberts (Wake County) — Roberts is the North Carolina state budget director.
  • Charles Perusse (Wake County) — Perusse is the chief operating officer for the University of North Carolina.
  • Jennifer Haygood (Wake County) — Haygood is the chief financial officer and vice president for business and finance at the NC Community College System.
  • John David Solomon (Johnston County) — Solomon is the vice president at CH2M Hill.

    The Commission shall study the following matters related to building and infrastructure needs, including new repairs, renovations, expansion, and new construction for State agencies, The University of North Carolina, North Carolina Community Colleges and infrastructure needs for counties, cities and local school boards as designated in Session Law 2014-42.

North Carolina Water Treatment Facility Operators Certification Board

  • Linda Raynor (Wake County) — Raynor is the head of the compliance services branch in the public water supply section at the N.C. Department of Environment & Natural Sciences.
  • R. Wendell Pickett (Davidson County) — Pickett is the water plant superintendent for the High Point Public Services Department.

    The board works to protect public health and conserve and protect the water resources of the State. The board protects the public investment in water treatment facilities, provides for the classifying of public water treatment facilities and requires the examination of water treatment facility operators and the certification of their competency to supervise the operation of water treatment facilities. The term length is three years.

North Carolina Board of Funeral Service

  • M. Kelly Byrd (Union County) — Byrd is a funeral director for Gordon Funeral Service. This is a reappointment.
  • W. Stephen Aldridge III (Stanly County) — Aldridge is the president and manager of Stanly Funeral Home. This is a reappointment.
  • Valdus Lockhart (Cumberland County) — Lockhart is an employee with Wiseman Mortuary.
  • Joseph Clay (Wilkes County) — Clay is the vice president/manager/funeral director of Huff Funeral Home.

    The board regulates the practice of funeral service in the state. The term length is three years.

North Carolina State Health Coordinating Council

  • Dr. Sandra Greene (Chatham County) — Greene is a professor of the practice in health policy at UNC-Chapel Hill. This is a reappointment.
  • Trey Adams (Wake County) — Adams is a broker at the Lundy Group. This is a reappointment.
  • Peter Brunnick (Mecklenburg County) — Brunnick is the president and CEO of Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region. This is a reappointment.
  • Denise Michaud (Caldwell County) — Michaud is the health director for Caldwell County. This is a reappointment.
  • The Honorable Donny Lambeth (Forsyth County) — Rep. Lambeth is serving his second term in the N.C. House. This is a reappointment.
  • The Honorable Ralph Hise (Mitchell County) — Senator Hise is serving his third term in the N.C. Senate. This is a reappointment.
  • The Honorable James Burgin (Harnett County) — Burgin is a county commissioner and the president/owner of C&D Insurance, Sergous Latinos Insurance, and B.C. Property Inc.
  • Dr. Richard Akers (Gaston County) — Akers is an eye care physician at Carolina Eye Center in Gastonia. This is a reappointment.
  • Dr. Mark Ellis (Mecklenburg County) — Ellis specializes in anesthesiology in Concord. This is a reappointment.

    The State Health Coordinating Council develops a draft state medical facilities plan that is recommended annually to the Governor. The council holds hearings on the draft plan and responds to public comments received. The term length is three years at the pleasure of the governor.

North Carolina 911 Board

  • Andrew Grant (Mecklenburg County) — Grant is the assistant town manager of Cornelius. This is a reappointment.

    The board develops the 911 State Plan, administers the 911 Fund and the monthly 911 service charge, distributes revenue in the 911 Fund, establishes policies and procedures to fund advisory services and training, and investigates revenues and expenditures. The term length is four years.

North Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners

  • Jacqueline Hobbs (Perquimans County) — Hobbs is the proprietor of the Beechtree Inn. This is a reappointment.

    The board regulates the practice of chiropractic in North Carolina to determine the qualifications of individuals seeking to practice chiropractic. The term length is three years.

North Carolina Capital Facilities Finance Agency Board of Directors

  • Brandon Gosey (Rutherford County) — Gosey is an adult high school coordinator at Isothermal Community College.

    The purpose of the Board is to provide the benefits of tax-exempt financing to private institutions of higher education in the State of NC. The term length is four years.
