News Release:

WASHINGTON, DC     Today, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) spoke on the Senate floor during open debate to support Senator Alexander’s (R-TN) legislation to stop the implementation of the National Labor Relation Board’s “ambush election” rule. Senator Tillis provided the following statement after the resolution passed the Senate with a 53-46 vote this afternoon:

“The NLRB’s ambush election is an unacceptable handout to big union bosses, and I am pleased to join Senator Alexander’s resolution to stop this rule and protect workers, employers and businesses across the country. The ambush rule is yet another vehicle to favor unions while infringing on the rights and privacy of hardworking employers and employees. Eleven days does not provide employees adequate time to understand the potential consequences of unionization and the rule is a gross overstep of what should be a fair process for all parties.”
