    Barbara Everett Roberson, 79, wife of the late Larry Craig Roberson, died peacefully Friday, January 9, 2015, in Advance, NC following a stroke.

    Barbara was born January 22, 1935 in Washington, NC, to Charles Garvey and Hilda Whitley Everett. She graduated from Washington High School in 1953 and married her husband of 41years in 1958. She was employed by Thomas & Howard in Washington, NC, First Citizens Bank, Federal Surplus Property Agency, and retired from the North Carolina Department of Administration in Raleigh, NC. She and her family lived much of their lives in Garner, NC.

    Barbara's purpose was fulfilled by her devotion to others. She lived to love and give to her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. She is survived by her children, Karen (Joe) Geddie of Tupelo MS, Karla (Steve) Everett of Ortonville MI, Ann Claire (Todd) Mattern of Beavertown PA, and Larry Craig (Emily) Roberson Jr. of Advance NC; grandchildren, Carmen Everett, Kramer Everett, Jonathan Geddie, Taylor Mattern, Baxter Geddie, Jacob "Jake" Everett, Hayes Mattern, Larry Craig Roberson III, and Colby Roberson; step-granddaughter, Melissa Geddie (Kyle) Colston; sisters, Hilda Respess, Norma Roberson, and Kathryn (Graham) Singleton; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and her precious miniature schnauzer, Gretel.

    In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Charles Garvey "C.G." Everett Jr. and Lindsey Everett; sister-in-law, Alma "Tootsie" Everett; and brothers-in-law, William "Wallace" Respess and James W. Roberson.

    A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday January 12, 2015 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington officiated by Rev. Dolan Baker. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Her sons-in-law and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:15-11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Washington Rebuilding Fund, 401 East Second Street, Washington, NC 27889 or the charity of one's choice.
