Harvey Mason was a special and remarkable man who will be grieved for and greatly missed by many, many people. He had three major careers in his life. The first was as a lumberman until the age of 40. At that time he embarked on a completely different career for the next 25 years as a radio and television engineer. He was chief engineer for WITN-TV for 21 years until he retired at the age of 65. He never lost his temper or raised his voice. He set an example that many tried to follow. He was a member of the Hyde county Masonic Lodge for over seventy years. From the age of 98 to 100, he built a 42 foot pontoon boat. He enjoyed building boats about as much as he did riding and fishing on them.
